Tool Comparison
Build two stacks. See which one wins.
Pick a tool for each category, line them up side by side, and export the comparison. Every tool in the picker has a published BestStacked review, and no placement is paid for.

Short answer
Pick a preset or start from scratch, choose one reviewed tool per category for up to three stacks, and read the summary: tools picked, how many have a free plan, an estimated monthly starting cost and the average review score. Use Share to send the comparison, or Export CSV to take it into a spreadsheet.

See all Stack PacksHow should you compare two stacks?
- Compare jobs, not logos. Fill the same categories in each stack so you're comparing like with like. An empty row means that stack has no tool for the job, which is a cost you'll pay later in time or another subscription.
- Look for overlap. All-in-one platforms often cover two or three rows at once. If one stack uses a suite and the other uses specialists, count the rows the suite really replaces before comparing totals.
- Treat the cost as a floor. The estimate adds starting prices only. Multiply per-seat tools by your team size and check annual-versus-monthly billing on each review before you budget.
- Read the limitations. A high average score can hide one weak tool in the job you care about most. Open the review for any tool in your most important row and read its limitations section.
- Check the integrations. Stacks fail at the seams. Confirm the tools connect natively, or plan an automation tool such as Zapier, Make or n8n to join them.
What the presets compare
- Founder Stack (solo builder vs lean team): Solo Founder: Cursor, Lovable, n8n, Kit, Close; Lean Team: Cursor, Webflow, n8n, Kit, HighLevel.
- Creator Stack (newsletter vs course-led): Newsletter-First: Beehiiv, Descript, Opus Clip, Canva, Notion; Course-Led: Kajabi, Descript, HeyGen, Kit, Notion.
- Marketer Stack (inbound vs all-in-one): Inbound: Jasper, Kit, Buffer, Canva, n8n; All-in-One: Jasper, HighLevel, Later, Canva, Manychat.

The presets are starting points, not recommendations for every business. For fuller, reasoned stacks by role, see the stacks by profession or the stack packs; for a single head-to-head, the comparisons go deeper.
How the numbers work
Starting prices come from each tool's review, which takes them from the vendor's own pricing page and shows the date they were checked; the picker shows when each review was last updated. Changes we find are logged in the pricing tracker.
Est. monthly start counts tools with a free plan as $0 and adds the first dollar figure in every other tool's starting price. It ignores seats, billing terms, add-ons and usage charges, so use it to compare stacks with each other, not to set a budget.
Average score is the mean of the picked tools' review scores out of 10. Scores come from research-based reviews, not hands-on tests; the methodology explains how they are set.
Categories you can compare
The picker covers every category with at least one published review. The number after each category is how many reviewed tools you can choose from; categories with more options make the side-by-side more useful.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the prices in Compare Stacks come from?
Each tool's starting price comes from its BestStacked review, which takes it from the vendor's official pricing page and shows the date it was checked. The pick list shows when each review was last updated, and price changes are logged in the pricing tracker.
How is the estimated monthly start calculated?
Tools with a free plan count as $0. For every other tool, the first dollar figure in its starting price is added. It's a floor for comparing stacks, not a quote: it ignores seats, annual-versus-monthly billing, add-ons and usage charges.
What does the average score mean?
It's the plain average of the BestStacked review scores (out of 10) for the tools you picked. A higher average means the individual tools rate better in our research; it doesn't measure how well they work together.
Can I save or share a comparison?
Yes. Share copies a link that rebuilds your stacks, Export CSV downloads the comparison as a spreadsheet, and Print gives a clean printable summary. Your picks live in the link itself, so there's no account to create.
Why can't I find a tool in the picker?
Compare Stacks only lists tools with a published BestStacked review, so every pick links to its research. To suggest a tool for review, use the contact page.
