    Quick answer

What is VEED, and is it worth paying for?

VEED is an online video editor that runs in your browser, built for short social and marketing videos. It adds automatic subtitles, an AI Clips tool that cuts long videos into shorts, translation and dubbing, AI avatars, text-to-speech and a screen and webcam recorder, with iOS and Android apps on the same account. It's worth paying for if you make subtitled social videos often and want them done in a browser by people who aren't editors. The free plan exports at 720p with a watermark. Paid plans start with Creator at $147 per user a year (about $12.25 a month) or $25 billed monthly, checked on VEED's pricing page on October 13, 2026. Every person in the workspace is a paid seat, and payments are generally non-refundable.

    Best for
Marketing and social teams that publish subtitled, branded short videos every week and want a browser editor non-editors can pick up.
    Skip it if
You edit long-form video or podcasts by transcript, need integrations or SSO without an Enterprise contract, or want refundable billing.
    Strongest capability
Subtitles: automatic subtitles are unlimited on paid plans (fair use 50 hours a month), with styles, SRT download, translation and dubbing in the same editor.
    Biggest limitation
AI generation runs on credits that don't roll over (500 a month on Creator), dubbing starts on Pro, and integrations, SSO and dubbing proofreading are Enterprise-only.

    The Verdict

VEED is one of the simplest ways to turn raw footage into subtitled, on-brand social video without installing anything. Every paid plan removes the watermark and includes unlimited automatic subtitles under a 50-hour monthly fair use limit, plus AI Clips, filler-word and silence removal, clean audio, eye contact correction, background removal, AI B-roll and voice cloning. The costs sit in the details. Plans are billed per seat, including pending invitations. AI generation spends credits that expire each billing period, and VEED's Fabric page prices one talking-video generation at 240 credits against Creator's 500 a month. AI dubbing starts on Pro (30 minutes a month), 4K export also starts on Pro, and integrations, SSO and dubbing proofreading are Enterprise-only. Live chat runs weekdays only, and refunds are limited to consumers who haven't used the service. VEED's own pages also disagree on language counts, accuracy and which plan includes Clips. We score VEED 8.3/10.

    The Background

    What Is VEED?

VEED is an online video creation and editing platform from Veed Limited, a company registered in England and Wales and based in London. It was founded on March 20, 2018 by Sabba Keynejad and Tim Mamedov, and its about page says Sequoia invested $35 million in 2022. The editor runs in the browser, and the same account and projects work in VEED's iOS and Android apps; VEED Lite is a separate iOS app with its own subscription. Around a timeline editor, VEED sells subtitles and translation, AI Clips for repurposing long videos, AI dubbing, AI avatars and its own Fabric 1.0 talking-video model, text-to-speech and voice cloning, an AI Playground for third-party video models, a screen and webcam recorder, and video hosting. It also sells a separate developer API. VEED says it powers millions of teams; that's its own figure.

    The Product

VEED Features: What You Actually Get

    Subtitles, translation and dubbing

Automatic subtitles are capped at 10 minutes a month on Free and unlimited on paid plans, subject to a fair use limit of 50 hours a month; SRT download needs a paid plan, and the full set of subtitle styles starts on Pro. Subtitle translation is listed on every plan, but VEED's pages disagree on whether it uses credits or a minutes allowance. AI dubbing is a one-time try on Free and Creator, 30 minutes a month on Pro and 1 hour on Studio, into 29 target languages, with optional lipsync in beta that downsamples video to 1080p. Dubbing proofreading and script upload are Enterprise-only.

A SaaS marketer subtitles a product demo in English, translates the captions into Spanish and German, and dubs the Spanish version on Pro.

AI Clips and AI editing tools

AI Clips turns a video with 1 minute to 3 hours of speech into short clips: it finds highlights, adds subtitles, keeps the speaker framed, removes filler words and formats for portrait or landscape, with ratings for each clip. VEED's help center lists Clips as a one-time try on Free and unlimited from Creator up. Creator also includes filler-word and silence removal, clean audio, eye contact correction, background removal, a beautifier, auto-edits and AI B-roll; the text-behind-person effect starts on Pro.

A podcast team uploads a weekly episode, picks the best-rated clips in portrait, trims them by transcript and exports Shorts and Reels.

AI avatars, Fabric and AI generation

AI avatars read a script of up to 20,000 characters per generation, from 60+ stock avatars or a custom clone, one avatar on screen at a time. Fabric 1.0, VEED's own model, turns an image and audio into a talking video: every account gets three 10-second tries, and paid plans make clips of up to 30 seconds at 240 credits each. The AI Playground and image generator run third-party models on credits, with the cost shown before you generate. Avatars aren't available in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan or the Philippines, and VEED is retiring some legacy avatars in 2026.

An HR team writes a policy update script, generates a stock avatar presenter, and adds the company brand kit before sharing.

Recording, brand kits and team review

A screen and camera recorder, stock audio and video (royalty-free on paid plans through Epidemic Sound), resizing for social formats and editing by script are on every plan. Creator includes a limited brand kit; Pro adds multiple brand kits, custom templates, custom vocabulary, embeds and video calls-to-action; Studio adds custom watermarks, one branded video hosting space, up to 5 editors and 1 reviewer. Creator and Pro allow up to 3 editors.

A three-person social team records a webcam intro, applies its brand kit and shares a review link before export.

    API, OpenEdit and 2026 releases

VEED sells a separate developer API (Fabric 1.0, Lipsync 2.0, background removal and clean audio) with its own prepaid credits that are non-refundable and expire after two years; a VEED subscription doesn't cover it. A Subtitles API was announced on May 18, 2026 at $0.10 a minute, with early access ahead of a public release on Fal. OpenEdit, a free agent-driven editing pipeline for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini, runs only on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 26. VEED also moved voice cloning to ElevenLabs' Eleven v4 model and added AI Asset Templates for prompt-based generation.

A developer at a content platform adds burned-in captions to user uploads through the API, billed separately from the team's editor seats.

    The Numbers

    VEED Pricing: Every Plan Explained

VEED charges per seat: the plan price is multiplied by every person in the workspace, including pending invitations. Prices below are from VEED's pricing page, checked October 13, 2026 and re-checked unchanged on October 19, 2026, in USD; VEED shows local currency where available. Annual prices are listed per user per year, with our monthly equivalent in brackets.

Creator billed annually is cheap for a watermark-free editor with unlimited subtitles, and the annual plans are where VEED's "save up to 51%" claim comes from: Creator is $147 a year against $300 paid month to month (our arithmetic from VEED's listed prices). Seat costs add up fast, though. A three-person team on Pro pays $795 a year or $135 a month, and VEED charges for pending invitations as soon as they're sent. Credits are the other variable: they refresh each billing period, don't roll over, and VEED's pricing FAQ says you get more by moving to a higher allowance, while its Terms of Sale also mention separately purchased add-on credits. Paid-plan trials are offered only to Enterprise buyers (minimum 3 users). Subscriptions renew automatically, and you must turn off auto-renewal at least two business days before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. The Terms of Sale give a full refund only to consumers who cancel within 14 days without having used the service; otherwise payments, credits and removed seats aren't refunded (a removed seat's unused time becomes account credit). iOS subscriptions are billed and cancelled through Apple, and India has annual billing only.

    Before you buy

AI credits, regional limits and your uploads

VEED's paid plans include a pool of AI credits for generation: 500 a month on Creator, 2,500 on Pro and 15,000 on Studio, or 12 times that up front on annual plans. The pricing cards translate these into "AI videos" (about 125 a month on Creator), but VEED's Fabric 1.0 page says each Fabric generation costs 240 credits, and AI Playground costs vary by model. Check the cost shown before each generation. VEED's AI Playground help says credits are deducted only when a generation succeeds.

Some features depend on where you are. VEED's help center says AI credits on the free plan are available only in some regions, AI avatars aren't available in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan or the Philippines, and monthly billing isn't offered in India.

VEED's Terms of Use (last updated April 22, 2024) say you keep ownership of what you upload and generate, but content uploaded on a free plan may be used to improve VEED's products, including training AI models. Paid and Enterprise content is excluded. VEED reports a SOC 2 Type II audit for Security covering November 4, 2025 to February 4, 2026, hosts on Google Cloud, and offers data processing agreements and security reviews only to Enterprise customers. None of this is legal advice.

    Read before you buy

    Where VEED's own pages differ

Plan names: the pricing page sells Free, Creator, Pro, Studio and Enterprise, but the help center's watermark and support articles still name "Lite" and "Pro" plans, and the Terms of Use refer to "Basic", "Pro" and "Business". On the pricing page itself, the Studio card lists Custom Templates as a Studio addition while the comparison table marks it on Pro.

Clips and translation: the help center's Clips article and the pricing table include AI Clips on Creator, while the AI clip generator page says to upgrade to a Pro plan for full access. The pricing FAQ says translations are minute-based and count toward a plan allowance, while the comparison table says "Translate with Credits".

Languages and accuracy: the pricing cards say Pro and Studio translate into 50+ languages; the video translator and enterprise pages say 125+ subtitle languages, and dubbing covers 29 target languages. The subtitle and translator pages claim up to 99.9% accuracy, while the enterprise page says translations are 98.5% accurate.

Support and security: the help center footer says paid customers get replies within 2 to 8 hours, while the contact-support article says 4 to 8 business hours for paid live chat. VEED's SOC 2 help article describes the audit across five trust principles, while its Trust Center says the 2026 Type II audit covered Security. The security FAQ says VEED's servers are in the EU, while the Trust Center lists Google Cloud in the US and EU.

    The Tradeoffs

    VEED Pros and Cons

    What we love

    • Runs in the browser with no install; iOS and Android apps share the same account
    • Unlimited automatic subtitles on every paid plan, with SRT download
    • AI Clips and AI cleanup tools (filler words, silences, audio, eye contact) from Creator
    • Low entry price on annual billing
    • Translation, dubbing, avatars and text-to-speech in one editor
    • SOC 2 Type II audit and a public Trust Center

    What could be better

    • Per-seat billing that counts pending invitations
    • AI credits expire each period; 500 a month on Creator covers few Fabric generations
    • Dubbing and 4K export start on Pro; integrations and SSO are Enterprise-only
    • No self-serve trial of paid plans; refunds only for unused consumer subscriptions
    • Live chat is weekdays only and not offered on the free plan
    • VEED's pages disagree on plan names, languages, accuracy and Clips access

    The Audience

    Who Should Use VEED?

Best for: social media and content marketers

Teams posting Reels, TikToks and Shorts every week get unlimited subtitles, brand kits, AI Clips and resizing for each platform, with watermark-free 1080p from Creator.

Best for: teams localizing short videos

Marketing and training teams that translate captions and dub into a handful of languages can do both on Pro without leaving the editor, with avatars for videos nobody wants to film.

Skip if: you edit long-form shows by transcript

Podcasters and YouTubers who edit hour-long episodes as text, or need multitrack recording, are better served by Descript or Riverside.

    How We Reviewed VEED

This is an editorial review, not a documented hands-on test. We didn't use a VEED account for this review. It's based on VEED's pricing page (both billing toggles and the full plan comparison table), Terms of Sale and Terms of Use (April 22, 2024), about, enterprise, translator, subtitle, dubbing, avatar, clip generator and Fabric 1.0 pages, its 2026 newsroom posts, its Trust Center, and help-center articles on subscriptions, cancellation, seat billing, support, watermarks, dubbing and its languages, Clips, Gen-AI Studio, the AI Playground, Fabric, avatars, the API, OpenEdit, security and SOC 2, all checked on October 13, 2026. Where VEED's pages differ, we report both statements. No subtitle accuracy, export quality or AI output results are claimed.

Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

    Use cases

    Example setups by buyer type

A solo creator posting daily shorts

Creator ($147 a year) removes the watermark and gives unlimited subtitles and AI Clips. Cut each long video into clips, fix captions by transcript, and save credits for the occasional AI B-roll or voiceover.

A three-person marketing team localizing ads

Pro ($265 per user a year) adds 4K, multiple brand kits and 30 minutes of dubbing a month per plan. Budget for every seat, including pending invites, and check language support before promising a market.

A training team that needs avatars and SSO

Studio covers heavy avatar and text-to-speech use, but SSO, integrations, private workspaces and dubbing proofreading need Enterprise. Ask sales for the 3-user trial and a DPA before rollout.

    The Ecosystem

    VEED Integrations

VEED's pricing table lists integrations as an Enterprise feature, so most of what it connects to sits inside the editor or in its separately billed API.

    • →Integrations, SSO and private workspaces (Enterprise)
    • →iOS and Android apps on the same subscription (web and Android billed by VEED, iOS by Apple)
    • →Third-party AI models in the AI Playground (Google Veo, Seedance, MiniMax, Kling, Luma and others, per the help center)
    • →ElevenLabs Eleven v4 for voice cloning
    • →Epidemic Sound stock library (royalty-free on paid plans)
    • →VEED API: Fabric 1.0, Lipsync 2.0, background removal, clean audio; Fabric also on Fal
    • →OpenEdit for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini (Apple Silicon Macs only)
    • →Video hosting, embeds and calls-to-action (embeds from Pro)

VEED's pricing page doesn't say which third-party integrations the Enterprise plan includes. The VEED API uses separate accounts and prepaid credits that don't come with an editor subscription. The homepage lists Sora 2, Veo 3.1 and Kling among its AI models, while the AI Playground help article's model list tops out at Veo 3, so check which models are live before you buy credits.

    The Final Word

    Should You Use VEED?

    8.3/10 Score

VEED is a strong pick for teams that make lots of short, subtitled social and marketing video and want a browser editor anyone can use: unlimited subtitles, AI Clips and cleanup tools come with the first paid plan, and annual pricing is low. Budget for every seat, expect AI credits to run out quickly if you generate talking videos, and move to Pro for dubbing and 4K. Teams that need integrations, SSO, weekend support or transcript-first long-form editing should look at Enterprise or elsewhere. We score VEED 8.3/10.
