Quick answer
Is VWO worth it, and what does it cost in 2026?
VWO is a conversion optimization platform: you add its script to your site, then build A/B, split URL and multivariate tests in a visual editor, target them to segments and read the results in a statistics dashboard. Since VWO and AB Tasty merged, the product is sold as Wingify, and vwo.com now redirects to wingify.com. On October 18, 2026, Wingify published no prices for any plan. Its pricing FAQ says every quote depends on traffic (monthly active users), the products you pick and implementation scope. There is a 30-day free trial with no credit card, but no free plan. Each product has Growth, Pro and Enterprise tiers, and several common needs, such as multivariate tests (Pro) and SSO or API access (Enterprise), sit on higher tiers.
- Best for
- Teams with enough traffic to run tests regularly that want testing, personalization, heatmaps and surveys from one vendor.
- Skip it if
- You need a published price before talking to sales, or you run a few tests a year on a small site.
- Strongest capability
- Breadth: web and server-side testing, feature flags, personalization, behavior analytics, surveys and commerce search on one data platform.
- Biggest limitation
- No public prices, and contract terms with non-refundable fees, auto-renewal and a 10% renewal increase on quota-based plans.
- Current cost
- Quote only for every tier, priced by monthly active users; 30-day free trial without a credit card.
The Verdict
VWO covers more of the optimization loop than most testing tools. The Web Experimentation product alone includes a visual and code editor, unlimited concurrent tests and variations on every tier, multi-arm bandit and sequential testing, and a QA assistant, while separate products add personalization, feature flags for apps and servers, heatmaps and session recordings, journey analytics, on-site surveys and commerce search. Support is better documented than at most rivals: 24x5 on every tier with in-app chat, phone from Pro and 24x7 on Enterprise. The trade-offs are cost visibility and contract terms. Wingify publishes no prices, multivariate testing starts on Pro, SSO and API access are Enterprise only, and its terms make fees non-refundable, renew contracts automatically unless you give 60 days' notice, and raise renewal fees 10% on quota-based plans. The 2026 merger with AB Tasty also means the product and brand are still changing. We score VWO 8.0/10, provisionally.
Best for
Marketing, product and ecommerce teams with steady traffic that want testing, personalization and behavior analytics in one contract.
Skip if
You need transparent self-serve pricing, a free plan, or only run occasional landing-page tests.
The Background
What Is VWO?
VWO (Visual Website Optimizer) is an experimentation and conversion optimization platform built by Wingify; its co-founder and CEO Sparsh Gupta says he co-founded VWO more than 15 years ago. You add a JavaScript snippet to your website, then create variations of pages in a point-and-click visual editor or in code, split traffic between them and measure which version moves your goals. In January 2026 VWO announced a merger with AB Tasty, another long-running testing company, and on September 16, 2026 the two launched a single brand, Wingify, with one platform. vwo.com and AB Tasty's pricing page now both redirect to wingify.com, and the pricing page sells eight product areas, each in Growth, Pro and Enterprise tiers: Web Experimentation & Rollout, Web Personalization, Feature Experimentation (flags for server-side code and mobile apps), Behavior Analytics (heatmaps, session recordings, form analytics), Journey Analytics, User Feedback (surveys), Commerce (on-site search and recommendations) and Customer Engagement. Wingz, Wingify's AI layer, is included in a Core version with every paid product. VWO doesn't replace your web analytics tool, and testing on a low-traffic site can take a long time to reach a result, whatever tool you use.
The Product
VWO Features: What You Actually Get
A/B, split URL and multivariate testing
Every tier of Web Experimentation & Rollout includes A/B tests, split URL tests (whole different pages on different URLs) and rollout campaigns that push a winning variation to all traffic, with unlimited concurrent campaigns, variations and goals. Multivariate testing, guardrail metrics, sample ratio mismatch detection and cross-domain testing start on Pro. The editor offers point-and-click changes, HTML/CSS/JavaScript code blocks, AI-generated text suggestions and a QA assistant for checking targeting and tracking before launch.
An ecommerce team tests a shorter checkout form against the current one, with a guardrail on average order value so a variation that hurts revenue is flagged.
Personalization
Web Personalization serves different content to rule-based segments, such as returning visitors, traffic from a campaign or visitors from a region, using the same editor. Wingify's table lists 3 concurrent personalization campaigns on Growth, 5 on Pro and unlimited on Enterprise, with one experience per target on Growth. A holdback control group is available only with the Enterprise tier of Web Experimentation.
A B2B site shows a different hero message to visitors arriving from a paid-search campaign than to returning customers.
Feature flags and mobile app testing
Feature Experimentation adds flags, variables and rollouts for server-side code and iOS and Android apps through open-source SDKs in 8+ languages. Growth is capped at 10 feature flags, 5 variables and 3 environments; Pro removes those caps and adds multivariate and multi-arm bandit tests; Enterprise adds holdout groups and a metric-based kill switch that stops a release when a guardrail is breached.
A subscription app tests two paywall layouts on iOS and Android without waiting for an app-store release, then rolls the winner out gradually.
Behavior analytics, surveys and Wingz AI
Behavior Analytics adds heatmaps, session recordings and form analytics (5 forms on Growth, 10 on Pro, 20 on Enterprise), with data kept for 1, 2 or 3 months depending on tier; mobile app heatmaps and recordings are Enterprise only. User Feedback runs web, mobile and link surveys (3, 14 or 30 active surveys). Wingz, the AI layer, offers agents that draft hypotheses and variations, build a variation from a prompt or Figma file, and watch guardrail metrics. Wingz Core is included with paid products; Wingz Advanced is a paid plan.
A growth team watches session recordings of visitors who abandon a pricing page, then asks Wingz to draft a test variation that addresses the drop-off.
Feature recap
- A/B, split URL and rollout campaigns on every tier; multivariate from Pro

- Feature flags and SDKs for server-side and iOS/Android apps

The Numbers
VWO Pricing: Every Plan Explained
Wingify's pricing page (wingify.com/pricing, where vwo.com/pricing now redirects) showed no prices for any plan on October 18, 2026. Every tier's button reads "Schedule a Demo", and the FAQ says pricing is custom, based on monthly active users, the products and plans you choose and implementation scope. The tiers below are for Web Experimentation & Rollout; the other products use the same Growth, Pro and Enterprise names.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | $0 for 30 days | — | "Free for 30 days. No credit card required." Trial account covering most core products, plus a sandbox pre-loaded with sample data | Evaluating the editor and reports before a sales call |
| Growth | Quote only | Quote only | Visual and code editor, unlimited experiments, variations and metrics, basic targeting and reporting, multi-arm bandit and rollouts, QA assistant, SPA support, Wingz AI Core, 24x5 support with an 8-hour first response | Small teams starting a testing program |
| ProBest value | Quote only | Quote only | Adds multivariate tests, advanced targeting and reporting, guardrails, sample ratio mismatch detection, cross-domain testing, collaboration, pull-based integrations, phone support and a 6-hour first response | Teams scaling up the number of tests |
| Enterprise | Quote only | Quote only | Adds all targeting and reporting, self hosting, ROI dashboard, approval workflow, mutually exclusive groups, SSO, API access, 24x7 support and a 4-hour first response | Large teams, agencies and regulated companies |
Because Wingify publishes no prices, the only way to compare VWO's cost is to get a quote for your traffic and products. Its FAQ says pricing is based on monthly active users (MAUs) for most products and on monthly tracked users for Behavior Analytics, that bundles and multi-year contracts are discounted, and that non-profits get preferential pricing. Add-ons, Managed Services and Wingz Advanced are priced separately. Read the contract terms before signing: Wingify's terms and conditions (for order forms from November 25, 2022) say fees paid are non-refundable, there's no refund for downgrades within a billing period, agreements renew automatically unless either side gives written notice at least 60 days before renewal, and where a service has a limited quota the fees increase by 10% at renewal. The pricing page also notes a per-user limit on stored events (50, 100 or 200 events per MAU by tier) that isn't enforced yet but "will be applicable in the future". For comparison, Convert publishes a starting price of $299 a month billed annually for 100,000 tested users a month, while Optimizely, like Wingify, quotes every plan.

VWO, AB Tasty and the Wingify rebrand
On January 20, 2026, VWO's co-founder and CEO Sparsh Gupta announced that VWO and AB Tasty were combining, subject to customary closing conditions. The post said existing client relationships, contracts, pricing, service levels and support would remain unchanged. On September 16, 2026 (the newsroom date; the article itself shows "Last Updated: October 12, 2026"), the companies introduced Wingify as the single brand for both and launched one platform covering experimentation, personalization, insights, commerce, feature management and customer engagement.
What this means for buyers: vwo.com now redirects to wingify.com, the pricing page is shared with AB Tasty (abtasty.com/pricing also lands there), and the app login page offers separate Wingify and AB Tasty logins. The product names on the pricing page are Wingify names, not VWO names. Expect further changes as the two platforms are combined, and ask sales which platform your contract covers and what the migration plan is.
Wingify's own figures differ between its pages. The January merger post says more than $100 million in revenue, over 4,000 customers and nearly 800 people; the September launch announcement says more than $105 million, 4,000 customers and 700 employees across 11 offices; and the pricing page says "Trusted by 3000+ leading brands globally". These are company statements, not audited figures.
Support and contract
Support levels and contract terms by tier
Wingify's plan tables spell out support by tier, which few testing vendors do. Every tier gets the knowledge base, email and in-app chat. Growth and Pro have 24x5 support, Enterprise 24x7. First response times, counted on working days, are 8 hours on Growth, 6 on Pro and 4 on Enterprise. Phone support starts on Pro. Managed Services, where Wingify's team helps run your program, is a paid extra.
Security and data handling, as listed on the pricing page: data stored in the USA, Belgium (EU) or India; two-factor authentication, login restrictions by location or IP, activity monitoring and a one-click "panic mode" that pauses all Wingify scripts on every tier; SSO via any SAML 2.0 provider on Enterprise. The compliance row names GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, several ISO 27000-series certifications, PCI DSS and SOC 2 Type II. Using a compliant vendor doesn't make your own testing program compliant; consent handling and what you track are still your responsibility.
Scoring
How the provisional score is built
BestStacked weights five sub-scores: ease of use 20%, features 25%, pricing 20%, support 15% and integrations 20%. For VWO they come only from Wingify's documentation, not from testing, and are provisional until the editor approves them. Ease of use 7.8: a visual editor, QA assistant and 30-day trial with sample data, but setup needs a site snippet or SDKs, and the product and brand are mid-merger. Features 9.0: testing, personalization, feature flags, behavior analytics, surveys and commerce search, with unlimited tests on every tier, but multivariate starts on Pro and SSO and API access are Enterprise only. Pricing 6.8: no published prices on any tier, non-refundable fees, automatic renewal with 60 days' notice and a 10% increase on quota-based plans, offset by a no-card trial, bundle discounts and non-profit pricing. Support 8.0: chat and email on every tier, documented response times, phone from Pro and 24x7 on Enterprise. Integrations 8.2: a directory spanning analytics, CDP, CRM, CMS, ecommerce and data-warehouse connectors, but API access is Enterprise only. That works out to 8.0 out of 10.

The Methodology
How We Reviewed VWO
This is an editorial review, not a hands-on test. BestStacked did not use VWO or Wingify for this review and makes no claims about test results, performance or ease of setup beyond what Wingify documents. It's based on Wingify's own pages, all checked on October 18, 2026: the pricing page (all product tabs, plan tables and FAQ), the September 2026 Wingify launch announcement, the January 2026 merger post, the Wingz AI, integrations and mobile app testing pages, and Wingify's terms and conditions. Competitor details come from each vendor's own pricing page the same day, or from their BestStacked reviews where noted. Where Wingify's pages differ, both versions are reported. VWO's tracked partner link is used on the review buttons; it does not affect the score.
Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

Convert: Convert Experiences publishes its prices on a slider by monthly tested users, starting at $299 a month on an annual plan, with Enterprise quoted. It covers A/B, split and full-stack testing, and its pricing page offers a free trial. BestStacked hasn't reviewed Convert yet.
Instapage: Instapage is a landing page builder for ad campaigns, with server-side A/B testing and ad-matched personalization on its higher plans. It tests the pages it hosts, while VWO tests pages, apps and features across your own site.Read our Instapage review →
Leadpages: If your testing is limited to landing pages, a page builder with split testing included can be enough. Leadpages builds the pages and runs A/B tests on them, though its review notes testing starts on the Grow plan ($79/mo billed yearly, $99 monthly).Read our Leadpages review →
Survicate: Teams that mainly want visitor feedback, rather than experiments, can start with a survey tool. Survicate runs website, in-app, mobile and email surveys and has a free plan; VWO's User Feedback product does similar work inside a Wingify contract.Read our Survicate review →
In The Wild
How People Actually Use VWO
An online retailer with 300,000 monthly visitors
Run checkout and product-page A/B tests on Growth, add Behavior Analytics to see where shoppers drop off, and ask for a bundle quote. Confirm the monthly-active-user allowance and the renewal terms before signing.
A SaaS product team
Feature Experimentation's SDKs let engineers ship features behind flags and test them in the app, while marketing tests the website in the same platform. Growth's 10-flag cap is tight for a busy team, so price Pro as well.
An agency running tests for several clients
Workspaces and domains are capped at 1 on Growth, 3 on Pro and 5 on Enterprise, and approvals and multi-account connectors are Enterprise only, so agencies with many clients should price Enterprise or ask about agency terms.
The Ecosystem
VWO Integrations
Wingify's integrations directory lists connectors in more than a dozen categories. Most push campaign data out to analytics tools or pull audiences in for targeting.
- →Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel and Heap
- →Segment, RudderStack, Adobe Experience Platform and Lytics (CDPs)
- →HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Klaviyo and Braze
- →BigQuery, Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage exports
- →BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, PrestaShop and Miva
- →Contentful, Drupal, Joomla and Magnolia
- →Google Tag Manager, Jira, Microsoft Clarity and FullStory
- →REST API (Enterprise, 60K calls/month) and Wingify MCP
Pull-based integrations start on Pro, and API access and multiple accounts per connector are Enterprise only. Check the connector page for each tool you rely on before buying.

The Final Word
Should You Use VWO?
VWO, now sold as Wingify, suits teams that test continuously and want testing, personalization, feature flags and behavior analytics under one vendor, with unlimited tests on every tier and support levels written into each plan. Its weak spots are commercial rather than functional: no published prices, contract terms that favor the vendor at renewal, and a platform still being combined with AB Tasty. Get a quote for your traffic, read the renewal clause, and compare it with Convert's published pricing before you commit. We score VWO 8.0/10, provisionally.
Yes, if
you run tests every month, want testing, personalization and behavior analytics from one vendor, and are comfortable negotiating an annual contract
No, if
you need published self-serve pricing, a free plan, or only test a few landing pages a year
