Quick answer
What is xTiles, and is it worth paying for?
xTiles is a visual workspace from xTiles Inc. that combines notes, projects built from movable tiles, tasks, collections (tables, boards, galleries, calendars) and a daily planner, on the web, desktop and mobile. It connects to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools through an MCP server, so an assistant can read your planner, create pages and manage tasks. The free plan is usable on its own: unlimited pages and projects, three personal spaces and calendar sync. Plus is worth paying for if you live in the planner and want recurring tasks, full planner history and premium templates. Plus costs $12.42 per user a month billed yearly or $19 monthly; Pro costs $24.92 or $35. Prices were checked on xTiles' pricing page on October 13, 2026.
- Best for
- Students, creators, coaches and small teams who think visually and want notes, projects and a day planner in one app.
- Skip it if
- You need relational databases, a large integration marketplace, bulk export of whole projects, or audited security certifications.
- Strongest capability
- The free-form tile canvas paired with a daily and weekly planner, plus an MCP connection that works with Claude and ChatGPT on every plan.
- Biggest limitation
- Export and import work one page at a time, native integrations are few (Google and Outlook calendars, Telegram), and xTiles' own pages disagree on AI limits.
- Current cost
- Free; Plus $12.42/user/mo yearly or $19 monthly; Pro $24.92 or $35; Enterprise quoted. 50% off Plus for a year for educators, students and non-profits.
The Verdict
xTiles is a visual alternative to block-based workspaces like Notion: pages are canvases of tiles you arrange freely, with tasks, collections and a daily planner built in, and apps on every platform. The free plan is generous for one person, and Plus adds what heavy planner users need: recurring tasks, unlimited planner history, premium templates and timeline view. Its MCP connection is a real differentiator at this price, since Claude or ChatGPT can read your planner and create pages and tasks even on the free plan, with editing rights widening on Plus and Pro. The trade-offs are thin native integrations, page-by-page export, a monthly Plus price ($19) that's higher than Notion Plus, and pricing and help pages that disagree on AI limits and refunds. We score xTiles 8.3/10.
Best for
People who plan visually and want notes, projects and a day planner in one app, with Claude or ChatGPT able to add to it.
Skip if
You need deep databases, many native integrations, bulk export or enterprise compliance reports.
The Background
What Is xTiles?
xTiles is made by xTiles Inc.; its About page names Maksym Kuchur as founder and CEO. It's a productivity workspace organised into spaces, projects and pages. Creative pages are canvases of tiles (text, images, files, embeds, tasks) you can move and nest; collection pages show the same items as a table, board, gallery, calendar or timeline; and My Planner gives each day, week and month its own page. Tasks can be created from any note and appear in a task panel across projects. There's a template gallery, a Web Clipper for saving pages as tasks, notes or projects, Google and Outlook calendar sync, and xTiles AI, which turns pasted text, PDFs, links and images into structured boards. xTiles says more than 1,000,000 people use it; that's xTiles' figure, not an independent count.
The Product
xTiles Features: What You Actually Get
Tile canvas, collections and linked pages
Pages are built from tiles you place side by side and nest, rather than a single column of blocks. Collections turn items into tables, boards, galleries, calendars or timelines, and xTiles' comparison page says an item can belong to several collections at once. Backlinks and Linked Pages connect related notes; Linked Pages, the timeline view and forms are on Plus and above. File uploads are capped at 5 MB on Free and unlimited on paid plans.
A content creator keeps a moodboard, script drafts and a publishing calendar for one video on a single project page.
Planner and tasks
My Planner gives each day, week and month a page, with tasks, reminders, calendar events and a Pomodoro timer. Free keeps two weeks of planner history; Plus and Pro keep all of it. Free tasks support assignees and due dates; recurring tasks and priorities need Plus. Google Calendar and Outlook events can be viewed and edited inside xTiles on every plan.
A freelancer plans each week on the Weekly page and drags tasks from client projects onto specific days.
MCP connection to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools
xTiles runs an MCP server at mcp.xtiles.app/mcp. In Claude you can add xTiles from the Connectors Directory (Customize, then Connectors) or as a custom connector, and xTiles says it has tested the connection in ChatGPT, in Claude Chat, Code and Cowork, and in OpenClaw. Authorization is OAuth in the browser, with no API key. A connected assistant can read projects, pages, collections and your planner; create projects, pages and tiles from Markdown; add to your planner; and create, update, list and delete tasks. Free and paid accounts both connect. On Plus the assistant can also edit existing content in personal spaces (up to 1,000 items and 3 members); Pro lets it edit any project, including shared spaces.
A product manager asks Claude to turn a brainstorm thread into a Q4 Planning project with Goals, Timeline and Resources pages.
xTiles AI and ready-made AI workflows
The built-in AI turns pasted text, PDF or txt files, links and images into tiles, pages or whole projects, and can summarise or restructure them. xTiles also publishes ready-made workflows for connected assistants, such as Daily Brief, Evening Reflection, Weekly Review and Today News, written as skill files an assistant can follow. xTiles says your content isn't used to train its AI models, and its FAQ says AI can't be switched off entirely, only left unused.
A student uploads a lecture PDF and gets a structured study board with key points grouped by topic.
Web Clipper and mobile capture
The Web Clipper saves a page or selection into xTiles as a task, note or project, with optional AI summaries. The iOS and Android apps sync with the web and desktop apps, and xTiles says notes and tasks can be captured offline and sync when you reconnect.
A researcher clips three competitor articles into a project from the browser and adds their own notes on the phone later.
Sharing and team spaces
Projects can be shared privately or publicly, published as pages and opened to search-engine indexing (indexing from Plus), with real-time collaboration, comments, mentions and notifications on every plan. Free and Plus include one shared space; Pro includes unlimited shared spaces and members. Enterprise adds SAML SSO and organization spaces.
A three-person agency shares one client space for briefs and status, with each person keeping their own planner private.

The Numbers
xTiles Pricing: Every Plan Explained
xTiles has a free plan, two paid self-serve plans priced per user, and Enterprise. Yearly billing is shown as a monthly figure. Prices are in USD and VAT may apply. Prices and limits below are from xTiles' pricing page and plan comparison table, checked October 13, 2026.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Unlimited pages and projects, free templates, 3 personal spaces, 1 shared space, Google and Outlook calendars, 2 weeks of planner history, 5 MB file uploads, AI Assistant with 1,000 credits, limited AI integrations | Trying xTiles or light personal use |
| PlusBest value | $19/user/mo | $12.42/user/mo billed yearly | Everything in Free, plus 100+ premium templates, recurring tasks, unlimited personal spaces, full planner history, unlimited uploads, timeline, forms, linked pages, premium widgets, AI Assistant listed as unlimited, AI integrations that can edit personal-space projects, live and priority support | Individuals who plan in xTiles every day |
| Pro | $35/user/mo | $24.92/user/mo billed yearly | Everything in Plus, plus unlimited shared spaces and members, AI integrations that can edit any project and shared spaces, and two 45-minute personal onboarding sessions | Teams sharing several spaces |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Quoted | Everything in Pro, plus SAML SSO, organization spaces, a dedicated account manager and premium support | Organizations that need SSO |
Billed yearly, Plus works out to about $149 a year per user and Pro about $299 (our arithmetic from xTiles' monthly-equivalent prices; xTiles says yearly saves $79 and $121). Monthly billing is the expensive way in: Plus at $19 a month costs more than Notion Plus ($12 monthly) or Superhuman Docs Pro, formerly Coda ($15 monthly). Educators, students and non-profits can get 50% off Plus for a year. Refunds, per the pricing FAQ: a full refund within 72 hours of a monthly purchase or 30 days of an annual one, with no refunds on promotional or discounted plans. Cancelling drops you to Free at the end of the billing period.
Claude integration
How xTiles works with Claude
xTiles' help centre gives two ways to connect Claude. The quick route is Claude's Connectors Directory: in Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, search for xTiles, click Connect and sign in. The manual route is a custom connector named xTiles with the server URL https://mcp.xtiles.app/mcp. Other MCP clients use the same URL with Streamable HTTP and OAuth.
Once connected, Claude can read your projects, pages, collections and planner, create projects, pages and tiles, write into your planner, and create, update, list and delete tasks. What it may edit depends on your plan: on Free it creates content; on Plus it can also edit and reorganise existing content in personal spaces (up to 1,000 items and 3 members); on Pro it can edit any project, including shared and team spaces. Changes to structure and access rights are marked as coming soon.
Whether you can add connectors depends on your Claude plan and your workspace admin's settings, so check that on Anthropic's side.

Where xTiles' own pages differ
AI limits: the pricing page lists the AI Assistant at 1,000 credits on Free and unlimited on Plus and Pro, and the AI FAQ says there's no limit on any paid plan. The help centre's plan-options article describes the Free assistant as "up to 3 a day" and Plus as "100 suggestions a week", with unlimited suggestions on Pro. Check your usage bar in Account Settings after you upgrade.
Refunds: the pricing page FAQ header says "Money-back guarantee for 30 days", while the refund answer below it gives 72 hours for monthly subscriptions and 30 days for annual ones.
Older comparison page: xTiles' Notion-alternative page still lists Plus at $15 a month, shows "$8.25 per month" in its price comparison and calls the AI Assistant "coming soon". The pricing page is the current source: $19 monthly or $12.42 billed yearly.
The Tradeoffs
xTiles Pros and Cons
What we love
- Free plan with unlimited pages and projects, not a time-limited trial
- Tile canvas, collections and a day/week/month planner in one app
- MCP connection to Claude and ChatGPT on every plan, listed in Claude's Connectors Directory
- Apps for web, Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, plus a Web Clipper
- xTiles says it doesn't train its AI on your content
- 50% off Plus for a year for educators, students and non-profits
What could be better
- Export and import one page at a time; no whole-project export
- Few native integrations beyond Google and Outlook calendars
- Plus costs $19 billed monthly, more than Notion Plus
- AI limits and refund terms differ across xTiles' own pages
- No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 claim found; SAML SSO is Enterprise-only
- Free plan keeps only two weeks of planner history
The Audience
Who Should Use xTiles?
Best for: visual planners and creators
If you think in boards rather than documents, xTiles' tiles, templates and planner fit how you already work, and the free plan is enough to find out.
Best for: Claude or ChatGPT users who want a visual home for output
Turning a long AI chat into a structured project, or having an assistant write a daily brief into your planner, is a documented xTiles workflow rather than a workaround.
Skip if: you run a team wiki or database-heavy workflows
Teams that need relational databases, many integrations or compliance reports will find more in Notion, Coda (now Superhuman Docs) or ClickUp.
The Methodology
How We Reviewed xTiles
This is an editorial review, not a documented hands-on test. We didn't use an xTiles account for this review. It's based on xTiles' pricing page and plan comparison table, its help-centre articles on plan options, xTiles AI, connecting Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP tools, export and import, and two-factor authentication, its security, apps, Web Clipper, About, public-offer and Notion-comparison pages, all checked on October 13, 2026. We didn't sign in or connect the MCP server, so in-app screens and limits weren't checked. Where xTiles' pages differ, we report both statements. No productivity or time-saving results are claimed.
Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

The Field
xTiles vs The Competition
xTiles competes with flexible workspaces and personal knowledge apps. Prices below were checked on each vendor's pricing page on October 13, 2026.
| Tool | Starting Price | Free plan | Best Feature | BS Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| xTiles | Free; Plus $12.42/user/mo billed yearly ($19 monthly) | Yes | Tile canvas, collections and linked pages | 8.3/10 |
| Notion | Free; Plus $10/seat/mo yearly ($12 monthly) | Yes | Databases, wikis and Notion AI on Business | 9.4/10 |
| Coda (now Superhuman Docs) | Free; Pro $12/Doc Maker/mo yearly ($15 monthly) | Yes | Docs with tables, formulas and automations | Not yet reviewed |
| Obsidian | Free; Sync $4/user/mo yearly ($5 monthly) | Yes | Local Markdown files you own | Not yet reviewed |
Notion: Notion is the stronger team wiki and database tool, and its Business plan ($20 yearly, $24 monthly) includes Notion Agent and AI meeting notes; Free and Plus only include a trial of Notion AI. xTiles is more visual, has a planner built in, and includes an AI assistant and MCP connection on its free plan.Read our Notion review →
Coda (now Superhuman Docs): Coda's pricing page now redirects to Superhuman Docs, where Pro is $12 per Doc Maker billed yearly and Business $33. It's built for docs that behave like apps, with formulas and automations, and lists creating with Claude via MCP on Pro (Free includes a trial). xTiles is simpler and more visual, and better suited to personal planning.
Obsidian: Obsidian is free for personal and commercial use and keeps notes as Markdown files on your device; Sync and Publish are paid add-ons. Choose it for a private, local knowledge base; choose xTiles for visual boards, shared spaces and a planner without plugins.
In The Wild
How People Actually Use xTiles
A student or teacher
Use the free plan for course projects and the planner, then apply for the 50% education discount if you need Plus features like recurring tasks and full planner history.
A solo creator planning content
Keep each video or post as a project with a moodboard, script and checklist, and use the weekly planner to schedule publishing. Clip research from the web as you go.
A Claude user who loses ideas in chat
Connect xTiles to Claude and ask it to turn a long brainstorm into a structured project, or to write a morning brief onto today's planner page.
The Ecosystem
xTiles Integrations
xTiles' native integrations are few and focused on calendars and capture; AI tools connect through its MCP server.
- →Google Calendar (view, create and edit events)
- →Outlook Calendar
- →MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients
- →Telegram
- →Web Clipper browser extension
- →Import CSV and Markdown; export PDF, PNG, Markdown and CSV
xTiles' help centre lists Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Telegram, an AI email assistant and the Claude, ChatGPT and other-MCP connections under Integrations & MCP. We didn't find a Zapier listing or a public REST API in its pricing page or help centre when checked on October 13, 2026. Import and export run one page at a time, and the mobile app exports Markdown only.
Common Questions
xTiles FAQ
The Final Word
Should You Use xTiles?
xTiles is a good fit for people who organise visually: tiles, collections and a real day planner sit in one app with apps on every platform, and the free plan is substantial. Its MCP connection, available on every plan and listed in Claude's Connectors Directory, makes it a practical place for Claude or ChatGPT to put plans and tasks. It's less suited to database-heavy team work, bulk data moves or organisations that need compliance reports, and its own pages need tidying on AI limits and refunds. Start free, and pay yearly for Plus only once the planner sticks. We score xTiles 8.3/10.
Yes, if
You plan visually, want notes, projects and a planner in one app, and like the idea of Claude or ChatGPT writing into it.
No, if
You need relational databases, many native integrations, whole-project export or audited security reports.
