Jotform is an online form builder with drag-and-drop editing, thousands of templates, payment collection and conditional logic, plus a wider suite in the same account: Jotform Sign for e-signatures, Tables for managing submissions, Workflows for approvals, Apps for no-code mobile apps, and AI Agents that answer questions by chat, phone or SMS. It's worth paying for if your forms collect real volume, take payments or signatures, or handle health information, because the free plan stops at 5 forms and 100 submissions a month. Paid plans start at Bronze, $34 a month billed annually ($408 a year) or $39 monthly, for 25 forms and 1,000 submissions a month, checked on Jotform's pricing page on October 13, 2026. HIPAA features require Gold ($99 a month billed annually) or Enterprise.

The Verdict
Jotform covers more of the form-to-workflow job than most form builders. Every plan, including free Starter, includes the form builder, payment fields, Jotform Sign, Tables, Apps, Workflows and AI Agents, and paid tiers mostly raise limits rather than add products. Gold adds HIPAA features with a Business Associate Agreement, and Jotform's security page says it is a PCI DSS Level 1 service provider with US and EU data centers. Jotform AI (March 2026) builds and edits forms from plain language, and the August 2026 AI Data Assistant works across Tables. The trade-offs are structural. Bronze, Silver and Gold are each sold as single-user plans, submissions cap monthly (1,000 on Bronze), HIPAA starts at $99 a month billed annually, and team features sit in custom-priced Enterprise. Its 30-day money-back window is more generous than most. We score Jotform 8.8/10.

What Is Jotform?
Jotform (jotform.com, contracted through Jotform Inc. in the US and Jotform Ltd for unlisted countries under its terms) is an online form builder that has expanded into a no-code data-collection suite. The Form Builder handles fields, conditional logic, calculations and payments through 40 listed payment processors. Around it sit Jotform Sign (e-signature documents), Tables (spreadsheet-style views of submissions), Workflows (approvals and multi-step routing), Apps (installable no-code apps), Store Builder, Mobile Forms for iOS and Android with offline collection, and AI Agents for chat, phone, SMS and messaging channels. All of these share one plan's limits. Jotform says it has more than 40 million users; that is its own figure.

Jotform Features: What You Actually Get
Form Builder with payments
Drag-and-drop forms with conditional logic, calculations and templates (Jotform cites 20,000+ form templates), with payment fields for Stripe, PayPal, Square, Authorize.Net and others; its integrations directory lists 40 payment processors, and Klarna was added in July 2026. Payment submissions are capped per plan: 10 a month on Starter, 100 on Bronze, 250 on Silver and 1,000 on Gold. Fields per form range from 100 on Starter to 1,000 on Gold.
A yoga studio builds a class-registration form that takes card payments through Stripe and emails a receipt automatically.
Jotform Sign, Tables and Workflows
Jotform Sign turns PDFs into e-sign documents (10 signed documents a month on Starter, up to 1,000 on Gold). Tables stores submissions in table, card, calendar and report views with formulas, and the AI Data Assistant (August 2026) summarizes data and builds charts from prompts. Workflows route submissions through approvals; a January 27, 2026 update added Preview, Pause and Webhook steps.
An HR team collects a new-hire form, routes it to a manager for approval, then sends the offer letter for signature.
AI Agents
AI Agents answer questions, guide people through forms and take actions such as booking Google Calendar appointments, sending email or Slack messages and calling APIs. Jotform lists website chat, phone and voice, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram as channels. Plans cap active agents (5 on Starter to 100 on Gold) and conversations (100 a month on Starter to 10,000 on Gold); a dedicated phone number is a paid add-on that its terms make non-refundable.
A dental office trains an agent on its FAQ and website, then lets it answer after-hours questions and book cleanings.
HIPAA and security controls
HIPAA features are available on Gold and Enterprise only, according to Jotform's HIPAA pricing page, and covered entities that enable them receive a signed Business Associate Agreement. HIPAA-enabled AI Agents run on Google Gemini through Vertex AI, while standard accounts use OpenAI models, per Jotform's AI Agents page. Its security page cites PCI DSS Service Provider Level 1, optional RSA 2048 form encryption (file uploads excluded), and data kept in-region in US or EU data centers.
A physical therapy clinic on Gold collects intake forms with health history and stores submissions under a signed BAA.
Jotform AI, Apps and API
Jotform AI (announced March 24, 2026) creates and edits forms from typed or spoken requests, including logic and calculations, and Jotform says it is free. Apps packages forms, widgets and stores into installable apps with push notifications, included on every plan. The REST API has official libraries in ten languages, with daily limits from 1,000 calls on Starter to 100,000 on Gold and none on Enterprise.
A youth league asks Jotform AI for a registration form with age-based pricing, then bundles it with a waiver into a parents' app.

Annual billing saves about 13% on Bronze, 20% on Silver and 23% on Gold, by Jotform's own figures. Jotform's pricing page also advertises a campaign-dependent 50% onboarding discount for the first 24 hours after signup. Nonprofits and educators get 50% off Bronze, Silver and Gold, and 30% off Enterprise, per the pricing and education pages. Jotform's terms (revision July 28, 2026) say subscriptions renew automatically and are billed in advance; turning off auto-renew stops the next charge, and the plan stays active until the billing date before moving to Starter. Cancellations within 30 days of a payment made directly to Jotform get a full refund; other refunds are at Jotform's sole discretion, AI Agent phone-number add-ons are non-refundable, and App Store purchases follow Apple's policies. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated credit; downgrades apply lower limits immediately and may cause you to lose forms and submissions. There's no overage billing: Jotform warns you near a limit, and its FAQ says the oldest responses may be removed if storage is exceeded.
Compliance
HIPAA, payments and where your data lives
HIPAA features need Gold ($99 a month billed annually, $129 monthly) or Enterprise; Bronze and Silver don't include them. Jotform says covered entities that enable HIPAA features receive a signed BAA, and HIPAA-enabled AI Agents use Google Gemini on Vertex AI under a BAA. Jotform's HIPAA page also says customers must follow HIPAA rules themselves, and it doesn't state which third-party integrations are covered, so check each integration before sending health data to it.
Jotform's security page cites PCI DSS Service Provider Level 1 for payments, GDPR and CCPA compliance, 256-bit SSL and optional form encryption that excludes file uploads. Data is hosted on Google Cloud (Iowa and Frankfurt) and AWS (Virginia and Frankfurt) and stays in-region, so EU accounts keep data in the EU. Enterprise customers can choose a data center and move to a dedicated SOC 2 environment, according to Jotform. None of this is legal advice.
Read before you buy
Where Jotform's own pages differ
Support on Gold: the pricing page's comparison table shows "Dedicated support: No" for Gold, while the same page's Gold plan description lists "Custom domains and enterprise support." The Enterprise and contact pages describe a dedicated support team as an Enterprise benefit.
Nonprofit discount: the nonprofit page offers "50% off all annual plans," while the pricing page, HIPAA pricing page and Enterprise page limit the 50% discount to Bronze, Silver and Gold and give 30% off Enterprise.
Business Associate Agreement: the HIPAA page says covered entities that enable HIPAA features "will also receive a signed" BAA, while the security page says a BAA "is also available upon request."
Counts: the integrations page and pricing-page copy say 150+ integrations while the site menu links to "200+ integrations"; the Apps page cites 3,500+ app templates and 40+ payment gateways in one section, and 700-plus templates and 25-plus payment processors in its FAQ.

A nonprofit running events and donations
Start on Starter, then move to Bronze or Silver with the 50% nonprofit discount once monthly registrations pass 100. Use payment fields for tickets and donations and Tables to track attendees.
An operations team handling requests
Route purchase or time-off requests through Workflows approvals, store them in Tables, and push approved items to other apps by webhook. If several people need their own logins, budget for Enterprise.
