    Quick answer

Which Nutshell plan do I need?

Most sales teams should look at Pro, at $42 per user a month billed annually ($49 monthly). It's the first plan with personal email sequences, click-to-call with recordings, the meeting scheduler, forecast reports and up to 5 pipelines. Foundation ($13 annual, $19 monthly) is a basic contact manager with one pipeline and a 100-open-lead cap, and Growth ($25, $32) adds quotas, lead assignment and reporting. All plans include unlimited contacts, two-way Gmail and Office 365 sync, mobile apps and free live chat and email support.

    Trial
14 days free with no credit card. Nutshell also offers a free import service during the trial.
    Billing
No seat minimums or maximums, and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel anytime. Payment is by card or US ACH only.
    Add-ons
Marketing Pro is $49 per company a month plus email contact tiers; Engagement Pro (SMS and social messaging) is $16 per user a month; prospecting data is sold in credit packs.
    Skip it if
You need a power dialer, SSO below 5 seats, or non-US prospecting data. Nutshell's data add-on covers US people and companies only.

    The Verdict

Nutshell is a sensible CRM for small B2B teams that want something easy to adopt and don't want to pay extra for help. Every plan includes unlimited contacts, two-way email and calendar sync with Gmail and Office 365, mobile apps, forms and landing pages, and free live chat and email support for the life of the subscription, plus a free import service. The plan ladder is where buyers need care: Foundation and Growth are cheap but limited, and the features most sales teams want, such as email sequences, click-to-call and forecasting, start on Pro at $42 per user a month billed annually. Marketing automation, SMS and prospecting data are separate add-ons. Nutshell's own pages also conflict on calling and on which plans include AI summaries, so confirm those during the trial. We score it 8.6/10.

    The Background

    What Is Nutshell?

Nutshell is a CRM for small and mid-sized businesses, sold in five sales plans: Foundation, Growth, Pro, Business and Enterprise. It covers contact and lead management, visual pipelines, automated tasks and lead assignment, email sequences, click-to-call, a meeting scheduler, reports and forecasting, forms and landing pages, and AI features that summarize calls, meetings and timelines. Around the CRM, Nutshell sells add-ons: Marketing (email campaigns and automations), Engagement (SMS, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp in a shared inbox), Nutshell IQ prospecting data for US companies and people, and Proposals & Invoices. Every plan includes free live chat and email support, and Nutshell offers a free import service from 28 CRMs and other sources.

    The Product

Nutshell Features: What You Actually Get

    Pipelines and sales automation

Foundation and Growth include one pipeline, Pro 5, Business 10 and Enterprise unlimited. Growth adds automated lead assignment, quotas and stage goals; Pro adds automated sales tasks, pipeline distribution and a guided sales process builder; Business adds private pipelines and round-robin meetings.

A services company runs separate pipelines for new projects and renewals on Pro, with tasks created automatically at each stage.

    Email sync and sequences

Two-way email and calendar sync with Gmail and Office 365 is on every plan, and Nutshell says it works with all email providers. Personal email sequences, bulk email and click tracking start on Pro, and Business adds Nutshell templates and sequences inside Gmail.

A rep enrolls trade-show leads in a four-email follow-up sequence from Pro and sees who clicked through to the case study.

    Click-to-call and phone integrations

Nutshell's help center says browser click-to-call, with optional recording, transcription and an AI summary, is on Pro and above with no per-minute billing. Its Kixie integration page, however, says Nutshell doesn't have a built-in phone system and points to Kixie, RingCentral, Dialpad, Aircall and CallRail. There's no native power dialer. Confirm calling during the trial if phones matter.

A small sales team calls leads from the browser and keeps recordings on the lead record, while a high-volume SDR uses Aircall through the integration.

    AI outcomes and assists

AI outcomes such as call and meeting summaries, a lead researcher and a campaign generator draw from a monthly pool: 10 per user on Foundation, 20 on Growth, 40 on Pro, 100 on Business and 150 on Enterprise. AI assists, such as reply suggestions, have unlimited usage. Nutshell's FAQ says timeline summaries and meeting transcription come with Business and Enterprise, while its comparison table ticks them on every plan, so check this before you rely on it.

After a discovery call recorded through the Zoom integration, Nutshell writes a summary and suggested next steps onto the lead.

    Reports and forecasting

Growth adds activity and email reports, quotas and hot leads. Pro adds forecast, loss, funnel, product and task reports, and Enterprise adds read-only SQL access to your data.

A sales manager reviews the forecast report each Monday and checks loss reasons by competitor at month end.

    Forms, landing pages and Marketing

Every plan includes 15 forms, landing pages, an AI chatbot and 150 free marketing emails a month through Marketing Foundation. Marketing Pro ($49 per company a month) adds A/B testing, marketing automations, 150 SMS a month and 50 forms, and email marketing is priced by contact count, from $5 a month for 100 contacts.

A consultancy captures webinar sign-ups with a Nutshell form and sends a three-email nurture from Marketing Pro.

    Mobile apps

iPhone and Android apps are free with every plan and include a business card scanner, a map view and AI voice logging.

A field sales rep scans a business card at an event and dictates meeting notes on the drive home.

    The Numbers

    Nutshell Pricing: Every Plan Explained

Nutshell charges per user per month, with no seat minimums or maximums. The page defaults to annual billing; monthly prices are higher by $6 to $10 per user. There's a 14-day free trial with no card and no free plan. Prices checked on October 10, 2026.

Enterprise$89/user$79/user/moUnlimited pipelines, SSO (5+ seats) and directory sync (10+), read-only SQL access, scheduled phone support, API support, 150 AI outcomesLarger teams with IT and reporting requirements

The headline $13 is real but narrow: Foundation caps you at 100 open leads and one pipeline, with no sequences or calling. For most sales teams the realistic plan is Pro, at $42 per user a month billed annually or $49 monthly. Business is worth it for private pipelines, the audit log and working from Gmail. Nutshell's toggle says annual billing saves 15%, but the dollar savings shown work out to between about 11% (Enterprise) and 32% (Foundation). Add-ons are where costs grow: Marketing Pro is $49 per company a month plus email contacts (for example $25 a month for 1,000 contacts), Engagement Pro is $16 per user a month, Nutshell IQ credits start at $37 for 100 a month, and Proposals & Invoices is $79 per company a month. Nutshell says you can cancel anytime with no long-term contract.

    Pricing scenarios

What Nutshell costs for a real team: three calculations

These are our calculations from Nutshell's published prices on October 10, 2026, not quotes.

    Calculation 1, a three-person sales team on Pro. 3 × $42 = $126 a month billed annually ($1,512 a year), or 3 × $49 = $147 billed monthly. That includes sequences, click-to-call and forecasting.

Calculation 2, the same team with email marketing. Add Marketing Pro at $49 a month and 1,000 email contacts at $25 a month: $200 a month in total on annual CRM billing, or $2,400 a year. Nutshell doesn't state whether the add-on prices change with monthly billing.

    Calculation 3, a ten-person team on Business. 10 × $59 = $590 a month billed annually ($7,080 a year). Adding Engagement Pro for SMS and social messaging for every seat is another 10 × $16 = $160 a month.

    The Tradeoffs

    Nutshell Pros and Cons

    What we love

    • Free live chat and email support on every plan for the life of the subscription
    • Free import service, including during the trial
    • No seat minimums or maximums, and cancel anytime
    • Unlimited contacts, two-way email sync and mobile apps on every plan
    • REST API available to all customers regardless of plan
    • Forms, landing pages and basic email marketing included

    What could be better

    • Foundation is capped at 100 open leads and one pipeline
    • Sequences, click-to-call and forecasting need Pro ($42/user/mo billed annually)
    • Marketing automation, SMS and prospecting data are paid add-ons
    • Nutshell's own pages conflict on built-in calling and on AI summaries by plan
    • SSO is Enterprise only and needs 5 or more seats; phone support is Enterprise only
    • Prospecting data (Nutshell IQ) covers the US only

    The Audience

    Who Should Use Nutshell?

Best for: small B2B teams that want help getting started

Free import, onboarding and live chat support lower the risk of switching from spreadsheets or another CRM. Start on Pro if you run outbound follow-ups.

Best for: service businesses and agencies

Forms, landing pages and Marketing Foundation are included, and Proposals & Invoices can be added, so one tool covers inquiry to signed deal.

Skip if: you run a phone-heavy SDR team

There's no native power dialer, and Nutshell's own pages disagree on built-in calling. Close builds calling and SMS into the CRM.

    The Methodology

    How We Reviewed Nutshell

This is an editorial review, not a documented hands-on test. We didn't use a Nutshell account. It's based on Nutshell's pricing page, its public plan-comparison pages for the sales, marketing and engagement suites, product pages, help center articles, developer docs and security pages, all checked on October 10, 2026. The cost scenarios are our calculations from published prices. Where Nutshell's pages conflict, as on calling and AI summaries, we report both statements instead of picking one.

Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

    The Final Word

    Should You Use Nutshell?

    8.6/10 Score

Nutshell is an easy CRM to recommend to small B2B teams that value support: live chat and email help, onboarding and data import come with every plan, there are no seat minimums and you can cancel anytime. The trick is choosing the right tier. Foundation and Growth are cheap but limited, and Pro at $42 per user a month billed annually is where sequences, calling and forecasting begin. Add-ons for marketing, messaging and US prospecting data push the total up, so price them in from the start. Confirm calling and AI summaries in the trial, because Nutshell's own pages disagree. We score Nutshell 8.6/10.

    Yes, if

You're a small or mid-sized B2B team that wants an easy CRM with support, onboarding and import included, and Pro fits your budget.

    No, if
