Quick answer
Is Pressable worth it for WordPress hosting?
Pressable is a managed WordPress host from Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and Jetpack. It runs your site, updates and backs it up, and includes Jetpack Security, free migrations and 24/7 support. On October 19, 2026, Signature 1 cost $25 a month, or $250 a year, for one WordPress install, up to 30,000 visits and 20 GB of storage; Signature 3 cost $60 a month for 5 installs and 75,000 visits; larger plans run to $675 a month. Going over your visits or storage triggers automatic overage charges of $1.20 per 1,000 visits and $1 per GB. It's worth it if you'd otherwise pay separately for hosting, backups and Jetpack Security, and your traffic fits a plan tier.
- Best for
- WordPress businesses and agencies that want backups, staging and security included with 24/7 support.
- Skip it if
- You run a low-traffic hobby blog, or your traffic spikes unpredictably and you don't want overage bills.
- Strongest capability
- Five dedicated PHP workers per site, hourly backups, staging and sandbox environments, and Jetpack Security on every Signature plan.
- Biggest limitation
- Visits and storage are capped per plan, with automatic overage fees, and Signature 1 hosts one site.
- Current cost
- Signature 1 $25/mo or $250/yr; Signature 3 $60/mo or $600/yr; Signature 5 $155/mo; Signature 8 $675/mo; Premium from $350/mo.
The Verdict
Pressable is a managed WordPress host for people who'd rather pay one bill than assemble hosting, backups and security themselves. Every Signature plan lists five dedicated PHP workers per site, edge and page caching, hourly and daily backups, production, staging and sandbox environments, free migrations, professional email and Jetpack Security, which Pressable values at $239 a year. Support is 24/7, and Pressable says its average first response is about four minutes. Pricing is competitive at the entry level: $25 a month (or $250 a year) for one site and 30,000 visits, against $35 at Kinsta and $28 billed annually at WP Engine. The trade-offs are the meters. Plans cap visits and storage, overages are charged automatically, Signature 1 covers one install, and the SLA's uptime promise is for network and infrastructure with credits only on request. Refunds are available within 30 days of signup, but not after a free trial. We score Pressable 8.0/10.
Best for
Small businesses, WooCommerce stores and agencies with predictable traffic that want managed hosting with Jetpack Security included.

The Background
What Is Pressable?
Pressable is a managed hosting service for WordPress sites; its site footer calls it an Automattic hosting lab, and WordPress.org's hosting page lists it among recommended hosts. Managed means Pressable runs the servers, caching, backups and security, and gives you a control panel (MyPressable) to create sites, staging copies and sandboxes, invite collaborators and schedule plugin updates. It runs on Automattic's WP Cloud platform with a geo-redundant, high-availability setup, according to its pricing page. Plans are sized by the number of WordPress installs, monthly visits and storage, and every Signature plan includes Jetpack Security (backups, malware scanning and a firewall). Pressable hosts WordPress only. It isn't a site builder like WordPress.com or Squarespace; you bring or build a WordPress site, and Pressable migrates and runs it.
The Product
Pressable Features: What You Actually Get
Dedicated PHP workers and caching
Signature plans list five dedicated PHP workers (5 vCPUs) per site with 512 MB each and extra burst capacity, plus edge cache, page cache, query cache and OPcache on AMD EPYC servers. Pressable contrasts this with shared resource pools at other hosts. Premium plans start at 10 base vCPUs per site and can scale beyond 100 cores.
A WooCommerce store with a logged-in checkout gets dedicated PHP workers instead of sharing a pool with other customers.
Backups, staging and sandboxes
Pressable lists hourly database backups and daily full backups, and each site can have production, staging and sandbox environments; its comparison table says many hosts offer only production and staging. DupliKits lets agencies clone a configured site as a template, and a plugin update scheduler controls when updates run.
An agency tests a plugin update on a sandbox copy, then pushes it to staging for the client to approve.
Jetpack Security, migrations and email
Every Signature plan includes Jetpack Security (real-time backups, malware scanning, a firewall and Akismet spam filtering), which Pressable values at $239 a year, plus unlimited free site migrations and professional email. Premium plans include a Jetpack Complete license, valued at $599 a year.
A small business moves its site from shared hosting with a free migration and drops a separate security plugin subscription.
Support, SLA and team access
Pressable offers 24/7 WordPress hosting support and says its average first response is about four minutes. Its SLA promises 100% network and infrastructure availability, excluding scheduled maintenance, with a 5% credit of the monthly fee per 30 minutes of downtime, on request. Granular collaborator permissions let agencies give clients and developers different access.
A site goes down on a Sunday; the owner reaches support at once and claims an SLA credit by email within 30 days.

The Numbers
Pressable Pricing: Every Plan Explained
These are USD prices from pressable.com/pricing on October 19, 2026, read in a browser with both the monthly and yearly toggles. Yearly billing gives two months free. Visit limits are evaluated monthly for overage billing. The pricing page also has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Signature 1Best value | $25/mo | $250/yr ($20.83/mo) | 1 WordPress install, up to 30K visits, 20 GB storage | A single business site or store |
| Signature 3 | $60/mo | $600/yr ($50/mo) | 5 installs, up to 75K visits, 35 GB storage | Small agencies and multi-site owners |
| Signature 5 | $155/mo | $1,550/yr ($129.17/mo) | 20 installs, up to 400K visits, 80 GB storage | Agencies with a client portfolio |
| Signature 8 | $675/mo | $6,750/yr ($562.50/mo) | 100 installs, up to 2M visits, 325 GB storage | Large agencies |
| Premium | From $350/mo | Through sales | 10+ vCPUs per site, custom PHP memory, 100% uptime guarantee, overage protection, Jetpack Complete | Mission-critical single sites |
Pricing scenarios (our calculations from Pressable's and rivals' published USD prices, October 19, 2026; tax excluded). Signature 1 costs $300 a year month to month or $250 billed yearly. Against the entry plans checked the same day, Kinsta's Single 20GB plan costs $35 a month, or $30 a month billed annually, and WP Engine's Essential plan starts at $28 a month billed annually ($336 a year), so Pressable is the cheapest of the three on yearly billing ($250 against $350 and $336). The plans measure different limits (Kinsta's default plan view meters bandwidth, with a visits-based option; Pressable and WP Engine count visits), so compare against your own traffic. Pressable includes Jetpack Security, which would cost $239.40 a year on its own at Jetpack's regular price. Overages are where the bill can grow: a Signature 1 site with 40,000 visits in a month pays $12 for the extra 10,000 visits, or $8 if you buy a 10,000-visit add-on in advance. Moving up to Signature 3 ($60 a month) makes sense once you need a second site or regularly exceed 30,000 visits. Refunds: you can request one within 30 days of signup, but customers who used a free trial aren't eligible.

How visits and overages are billed
Pressable counts a visit once per visitor per UTC day, however many pages they view. By default it uses Fathom Analytics (formerly Gauges), which identifies unique visitors from an anonymous hash of IP address and user agent, without cookies; support can switch an account to Pressable Insights page views instead. Storage is the total disk space across all sites, including databases.
Overages are charged automatically: $1.20 per 1,000 visits and $1.00 per GB of storage over your plan. You can buy extra visits in advance at $8 per 10,000 or storage at $0.50 per GB a month, up to 200 GB. Monthly plans are measured from billing date to billing date and annual plans by calendar month. A banner appears in the control panel at 80% of a limit and again when you go over, and you get an email once overages reach $10.
Premium plans include overage protection. On Signature plans, a traffic spike from a viral post or a bot crawl can add to your bill, so watch the 80% banner and consider pre-buying visits if your traffic is seasonal.
Terms
SLA and refund terms
Pressable's SLA guarantees 100% availability of its data center network and of data center power and cooling, excluding scheduled maintenance, and replacement of failed server hardware within an hour of identifying the problem. Credits are 5% of the monthly fee per 30 minutes of network or infrastructure downtime (or per extra hour for hardware), up to 100% of the monthly fee. You must email help@pressable.com within 30 days and show the downtime affected you, and the SLA applies to qualifying plans and contracts. The pricing page lists a 100% uptime guarantee as a Premium feature.
Refunds: Pressable's legal page says you may request a refund for a plan within 30 days of signup, but customers who took part in a free trial aren't eligible. Its terms say refunds are otherwise at Pressable's discretion or as required by law. Cancel from the MyPressable control panel.
Scoring
How the score is built
BestStacked weights five sub-scores: ease of use 20%, features 25%, pricing 20%, support 15% and integrations 20%. For Pressable they come only from Pressable's own pages, not from testing, and sit on the same scale as our WordPress and Jetpack reviews. Ease of use 8.2: managed updates, free migrations, a control panel with staging and sandboxes, and clear plan tiers, but you must watch visit and storage meters. Features 8.4: dedicated PHP workers, layered caching, hourly backups, three environments and Jetpack Security on every Signature plan. Pricing 7.2: the lowest entry price of the three managed hosts we compared on yearly billing and Jetpack Security included, offset by automatic overages, one install on the entry plan and no refund after a free trial. Support 8.4: 24/7 WordPress support with a stated four-minute average first response and SLA credits, though credits must be claimed. Integrations 7.8: Jetpack, WP Cloud, an API, multisite and headless support and collaborator permissions, but WordPress only. That works out to 8.0 out of 10.

The Methodology
How We Reviewed Pressable
This is an editorial review, not a hands-on test. We didn't host a site on Pressable for this review and make no speed, uptime or support-response claims of our own; figures such as the four-minute first response are Pressable's. It's based on Pressable's own pages, all checked on October 19, 2026: the pricing page (read in a browser with the monthly and yearly toggles), the knowledge-base article on visits and storage overages, the refunds page, the terms of service and the SLA. Competitor prices come from Kinsta's and WP Engine's own pricing pages the same day. BestStacked is a Pressable affiliate through Automattic's Impact program and may earn a commission if you buy through the links on this page; that relationship plays no part in the score, and Automattic didn't review or approve this page.
Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

Pressable FAQ
The Final Word
Should You Use Pressable?
Pressable suits WordPress businesses and agencies that want managed hosting with the extras included: dedicated PHP workers, hourly backups, staging and sandboxes, free migrations, 24/7 support and Jetpack Security on every Signature plan. At $250 a year for one site, it undercuts Kinsta and WP Engine's entry plans on yearly billing. Budget around the meters: visits and storage are capped and overages are billed automatically, so pick a tier with headroom or pre-buy visits if your traffic swings. Look elsewhere if you need the cheapest hosting for a hobby blog, prefer bandwidth-based billing (Kinsta), or aren't running WordPress. We score Pressable 8.0/10.
