Quick answer
What is Restream, and is it worth paying for?
Restream is a multistreaming service: you go live once, from its browser studio or from an encoder such as OBS or Zoom, and it sends the stream to YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Kick and other platforms at the same time, with every platform's chat in one window. The studio handles guests, overlays and scenes, and add-ons cover AI clips, webinars and scheduled pre-recorded streams. It's worth paying for if you stream regularly to three or more platforms. On October 14, 2026 the free plan streamed to 2 channels with Restream branding; Standard cost $16 a month billed yearly or $19 monthly for 3 channels, Professional $39 or $49 for 5 and Business $199 or $239 for 8. Clips and webinars cost extra, and Restream's terms say prepaid fees aren't refunded, though its help center offers a 7-day money-back guarantee to first-time subscribers.
- Best for
- Creators and brands that go live on several platforms at once and want merged chat and a simple browser studio.
- Skip it if
- You stream to one platform only, need studio-quality local recording, or want registration-heavy webinars without add-ons.
- Strongest capability
- Multistreaming to 30-plus platforms with merged chat, and up to 4K output on every plan.
- Biggest limitation
- Channel caps by plan (2, 3, 5 or 8), a 720p studio below Professional, and paid add-ons for clips and webinars.
- Current cost
- Free; Standard $16, Professional $39, Business $199 a month billed yearly ($19, $49, $239 monthly).
The Verdict
Restream is a focused, reasonably priced way to be live everywhere at once. Its pricing FAQ says it reaches 30-plus platforms with no bandwidth or bitrate limits, every plan multistreams at up to 4K, and the browser studio handles on-screen guests, branding and merged chat without installing software. Standard at $16 a month billed yearly removes Restream branding and adds cloud recording. The limits are in the tiers: channels are capped at 2, 3, 5 or 8, the studio records at 720p until Professional, and AI clips, webinars and scheduled pre-recorded streams are separate monthly add-ons. Restream's terms (last updated in 2020) say prepaid fees aren't refunded while the help center offers a 7-day money-back guarantee, its own pages disagree on which plan includes co-producers and a second seat, and it claims SOC 2 Type I rather than Type II. We score Restream 8.4/10.

The Background
What Is Restream?
Restream is a live streaming service founded in 2015 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, with offices in Austin, Tallinn, Kyiv and Cascais; its about page lists a $50 million Series A in 2020 from Sapphire Ventures and Insight Partners, and its pricing page says it is trusted by 10 million streamers, which is its own figure. Its terms name Restream, Inc. and an Austin, Texas address. You connect your channels (YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Kick, TikTok via RTMP and others), then go live from Restream Studio in the browser or send a feed from OBS, vMix, Zoom or another encoder. Restream copies the stream to every connected channel, merges their chats, and can record the stream in the cloud on paid plans. Add-ons turn it into a clip generator, a webinar platform or a scheduler that plays pre-recorded video as live.
The Product
Restream Features: What You Actually Get
Multistreaming and merged chat
Restream sends one stream to 2 channels on Free, 3 on Standard, 5 on Professional and 8 on Business, with custom limits on Enterprise; its pricing FAQ says it supports 30-plus platforms and custom RTMP destinations on paid plans. Output goes up to 4K on every plan, and the FAQ says there are no bandwidth or bitrate limits and that delay stays under 2 seconds. Chat from every platform appears in one window and can be shown on screen.
A gaming creator streams from OBS to Twitch, YouTube and Kick at once and answers all three chats from one panel.
Restream Studio
The browser studio supports up to 6 on-screen participants on Free and 10 on paid plans, with scenes, overlays, logos, tickers, QR codes and AI background music (3 genres free, 22 paid). The studio broadcasts at 720p on Free and Standard and 1080p on Professional and Business. Professional adds 4K recording, simultaneous horizontal and vertical output, separate guest tracks and co-producers.
A marketing team hosts a weekly LinkedIn and YouTube show with two guests, branded lower thirds and a vertical feed for short-form clips.
Clips, transcription and recordings
Paid plans record streams in the cloud: up to 6 hours per stream on Standard and 10 hours on Professional and Business, stored for 15 or 30 days. The Clips add-on ($19, $29 or $59 a month for 50, 100 or 250 clips) uses AI to pick highlights, crop them vertically and caption them in 52 languages. Transcription covers 39 languages.
A podcaster turns each live episode into a batch of captioned vertical clips for Shorts and Reels.
Webinars and Upload & Stream
The Webinars add-on costs $99 a month for 100 attendees on Standard and Professional, or $299 for 500 on Business, and adds registration, up to 10 people on stage, replays on the same link and streaming into Slack; Restream says there are no per-registrant or per-host fees. Upload & Stream schedules pre-recorded video as a live stream; the help center prices it at $39, $79 or $239 a month by library length.
A SaaS company runs a monthly product webinar for 80 registrants and simulcasts it to LinkedIn Live.

Restream Pricing: Every Plan Explained
These are the Creator plans on Restream's pricing page on October 14, 2026, in US dollars. Yearly prices are shown as a monthly equivalent; Restream says yearly saves 20%, while its own numbers work out to about 17%.

Standard at $16 a month billed yearly ($190) is the entry point for anyone who doesn't want Restream branding on the stream, and it's cheaper than StreamYard's Core plan ($35.99 billed yearly). The jump to Professional ($39 billed yearly) is worth it for 1080p in the studio, 5 channels, 4K recording and a vertical feed. Budget for add-ons: a creator who wants AI clips and webinars on Professional pays $49 plus $29 plus $99, or $177 a month on monthly billing. Restream's toggle says yearly saves 20%, but its yearly totals ($190 against $228 for Standard) work out to about 17%. A help-center article describes a 7-day trial that converts to a paid plan unless cancelled, and another offers a 7-day money-back guarantee to first-time subscribers that doesn't cover renewals or post-trial charges. The terms of service, last updated in November 2020, say prepaid fees aren't refunded except after an outage of 72 hours or more or a support issue unresolved for 7 days, and that downgrades aren't refunded.

Where Restream's own pages differ
Plan features: the comparison table gives Professional 2 team seats and co-producer mode, while the plan cards present 2 included seats and co-producers as Business additions. A help article lists stream analytics on Free, while the pricing table excludes it.
Refunds: the help center offers a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers; the 2020 terms of service say prepaid fees aren't refunded except for long outages or unresolved support issues. The terms also name two entities, Restream, Inc. and Restream Live Streaming, Inc.
Add-on and limit details: the Upload & Stream product page shows $0 a month for its three tiers while the help center prices them at $39, $79 and $239. Enterprise channels are "custom" on the pricing page and "25+" in the help center, and the webinars page gives both "custom up to 3,000 attendees" and "1,000+" for Enterprise.

The Audience
Who Should Use Restream?
Best for: creators live on several platforms
Streamers who want YouTube, Twitch, Kick and LinkedIn audiences at once, with one chat, get that on Standard for $16 a month billed yearly, or Professional for 5 channels.
Best for: brands simulcasting shows and webinars
Marketing teams can run a branded show on Professional and add the Webinars add-on for registration and replays, while streaming the same session to LinkedIn and YouTube.
Skip if: you stream to one platform or need studio recording
If you only stream to YouTube, its own tools or OBS are free. If the recording matters more than the live show, Riverside's local recording is a better fit.
The Methodology
How We Reviewed Restream
This is an editorial review, not a documented hands-on test. We didn't use a Restream account for this review. It's based on Restream's pricing page (both billing options and its comparison table), about, Clips, Webinars, Upload & Stream and media solutions pages, developer docs, terms of service (November 25, 2020), and help-center articles on the free plan, trials, refunds, premium pricing and pre-recorded events, all checked on October 14, 2026. Where Restream's pages differ, we report both statements. No stream quality, latency or support results are claimed.
Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

StreamYard: StreamYard's Core plan streams to 3 destinations in 1080p without its logo, at more than twice the price of Restream Standard, and StreamYard says Core and Advanced are for personal use. It's owned by Bending Spoons, which also owns Vimeo. Pick StreamYard for the studio experience, Restream for more channels per dollar.Read our StreamYard review →
Riverside: Riverside records each participant locally at high quality and adds editing. Live streaming to multiple destinations starts on its Grow plan ($34 billed yearly). Choose Riverside when the recording matters most, Restream when reach matters most.Read our Riverside review →
OBS Studio: OBS is free, open-source software for Windows, macOS and Linux that records and streams with full scene control, but it streams to one destination unless you add plugins or a service like Restream. Many creators use OBS with Restream. BestStacked hasn't reviewed OBS Studio yet.
