    Best Email Verification Tools

Four list-cleaning and real-time verification services compared on what 10,000 and 100,000 checks cost, how long credits last, and which email platforms they plug into.

Prices, allowances, expiry rules and integrations checked on each vendor's official pages on October 19, 2026

    Short answer

Which email verification tool should you use?

ZeroBounce ranks first for teams that verify every month: it scores 8.3, gives 100 free credits a month, and its ONE plan ($99 a month, or $79 billed annually, for 10,000 credits) adds warmup and blacklist and DMARC monitoring. Bouncer (8.2) is the best value for occasional cleaning, at $60 for 10,000 checks with credits it says never expire. NeverBounce (8.1) is cheapest for 10,000 checks ($50) and at 100,000 a month ($159 on Growth). Kickbox (7.9) suits developers who want a simple pay-as-you-go API.

An email verification tool checks whether addresses exist and are safe to send to before you email them, so fewer messages bounce and your sender reputation holds up. This guide is for marketers, founders and product teams who clean a list before a campaign or a platform move, or who want to check sign-ups in real time. We compared four services: ZeroBounce, Bouncer, NeverBounce and Kickbox. How we ranked them: by fit for a small team that sends from one of the email platforms BestStacked reviews (Mailchimp, Brevo, Kit, ActiveCampaign and Klaviyo), informed by each tool's computed BestStacked review score. Those scores weight ease of use, features, pricing, support and integrations, and the order on this page follows them. Within that, we looked hardest at the cost of 10,000 and 100,000 checks, whether credits expire, the free allowance, real-time API pricing and native integrations with those five platforms. Every fact was checked on each vendor's own pages on October 19, 2026. This is research, not hands-on testing: accuracy figures are the vendors' own claims, and we say so wherever one appears. BestStacked earns a commission from ZeroBounce links; that played no part in the order, and the other three are plain links.

    #1

    ZeroBounce

Verification plus deliverability tools · Free 100 credits/mo; pay-as-you-go from $39 for 2,000 credits; ONE from $99/mo ($79/mo billed annually)

    8.3

ZeroBounce has the highest review score here (8.3) and the broadest toolset: verification, AI scoring for catch-all addresses, an Email Finder and, on the ZeroBounce ONE subscription, warmup, inbox placement tests and blacklist and DMARC monitoring. It's the only one of the four with a monthly free allowance (100 credits with a business email domain), and its integrations page lists 95 connections, including Mailchimp, Brevo, ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo and Zapier, though not Kit. Pay-as-you-go is the priciest here ($129 for 10,000, $649 for 100,000), so it suits buyers who use the subscription: ONE costs $99 a month or $79 billed annually for 10,000 credits. Credit purchases are non-refundable, and its pages disagree on credit expiry (see the table below). ZeroBounce says its accuracy is 99.6% and guaranteed; BestStacked hasn't verified that.

    #2

    Bouncer

    Low-cost verification with non-expiring credits · 100 free credits; 1,000 for $8; 10,000 for $60

    8.2

Bouncer (8.2) has the friendliest credit rules of the four: $60 for 10,000 checks and $400 for 100,000, 20% less on a monthly subscription ($48 and $320), no charge for duplicates or unknown results, and credits its pricing page and FAQ say never expire. It refunds addresses it marked deliverable that hard-bounce within 72 hours. It's the only verifier here with a listed Kit integration, alongside Mailchimp, Brevo and Klaviyo, but it lists no ActiveCampaign or Zapier connector. Inbox placement and blocklist tests are a separate Deliverability Kit from $25 a month. Its terms, last updated in 2018, say all purchases are non-refundable. Bouncer says its deliverable results are over 99% accurate; BestStacked hasn't verified that.

    #3

    NeverBounce

Bulk list cleaning and CRM auto-sync · Pay-as-you-go $8 per 1,000 credits; Growth from $49/mo for up to 10,000

    8.1

NeverBounce (8.1), owned by ZoomInfo, has the lowest price for 10,000 checks ($50) and matches Bouncer at 100,000 ($400). Its Growth subscription is the cheapest monthly option at volume ($49 for up to 10,000, $159 for up to 100,000) and adds CRM auto-sync that charges only for new, unique addresses, plus AI scoring. It lists 80+ integrations with dedicated pages for Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot and Zapier, but we found none for Brevo, Klaviyo or Kit. Pay-as-you-go credits expire 12 months after purchase, there's no monthly free tier, and its terms page didn't load for us, so check refund rules before buying a big pack.

    #4

    Kickbox

    Pay-as-you-go verification API · 100 free verifications; 500 for $5; 10,000 for $70

    7.9

Kickbox (7.9) keeps things simple: no subscription, 100 free verifications, $5 for 500, a free API sandbox and one credit balance for list uploads, the real-time API and its integrations, which include Mailchimp, Brevo, ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo and Zapier (not Kit). It ranks last because it costs more than Bouncer and NeverBounce at volume ($70 for 10,000 and $500 for 100,000 on its pricing page), its credits expire a year after purchase, purchases are non-refundable, and its API page shows a higher price table ($80 and $800). Support is by email or a scheduled call. Kickbox says its accuracy is 95% guaranteed; BestStacked hasn't verified that.

    Read before you buy

Credit expiry, including ZeroBounce's conflicting pages

Credit expiry decides whether a big, cheaper pack is a bargain or a waste. NeverBounce's pricing page says pay-as-you-go credits expire 12 months after purchase. Kickbox's Master Services Agreement (effective August 26, 2025 for new subscribers) and its knowledge base say credits expire one year after purchase. Bouncer's pricing page and FAQ say its credits never expire, for one-off purchases and the subscription alike, though its terms, last updated in 2018, don't address expiry.

ZeroBounce contradicts itself. Its pricing page lists "Credits never expire" among the things included with every account. The FAQ on the same page says credits never expire while a ZeroBounce ONE subscription is active, and that without one "expiration rules may apply". Its terms of use say credits bought by customers who registered after June 1, 2026 expire two years after the most recent credit purchase, unless a ONE subscription is active. All three were read on October 19, 2026. Treat the terms as the binding version: if you open a new account and buy credits without subscribing, plan to use them within two years of your last purchase.

    Sign-up forms

    Real-time API pricing

All four charge real-time API checks from the same credit balance as list uploads, so the per-check price is the price of the credit pack you buy: at 10,000 credits that's about $0.005 at NeverBounce, $0.006 at Bouncer, $0.007 at Kickbox and $0.0129 at ZeroBounce pay-as-you-go ($0.0099 on a month of ZeroBounce ONE). Kickbox's API page shows a higher table than its pricing page ($80 for 10,000), even though its knowledge base says the same credits cover both.

For testing, Kickbox offers a sandbox that doesn't spend credits, and Bouncer publishes sandbox addresses that are free to check. Bouncer lists real-time limits of 1,000 requests a minute and sells Shield, a no-code form widget priced per monthly check ($0.002 at 1,000 checks) plus $5 a month per shield. ZeroBounce ONE advertises premium API rate limits, and NeverBounce Growth verifies new contacts automatically as they sync from your CRM.

    Do you need one?

When email verification is worth paying for

Verification earns its cost when you import an old list, move platforms with years of contacts, revive subscribers you haven't emailed in months, or collect sign-ups from forms that attract typos and fake addresses. A double opt-in list you email every week usually needs little more than your platform's own bounce handling.

It has limits. Removing invalid and risky addresses lowers bounces, which protects your sender reputation, but it can't guarantee inbox placement: authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC), content, sending patterns and engagement still decide that. And verification doesn't make a bought or scraped list lawful to email under CAN-SPAM, GDPR or similar rules.

    Buying guide

How to Choose the Right Tool

Price the volume you'll actually verify in a year. A cheap 100,000 pack loses its edge if half the credits expire: NeverBounce and Kickbox credits last a year, and ZeroBounce's terms set a two-year limit for newer accounts without a subscription.

Compare a month of subscription with a one-off pack. At 100,000 checks, one month of NeverBounce Growth ($159) or ZeroBounce ONE ($449) costs less than their own pay-as-you-go packs ($400 and $649), if you cancel afterwards. Check the cancellation terms first.

Check the integration for your email platform. Kit users have one listed option (Bouncer); ActiveCampaign users should look at ZeroBounce, NeverBounce or Kickbox; Mailchimp works with all four.

Read refund terms before a big purchase. ZeroBounce, Bouncer and Kickbox say purchases are non-refundable; ZeroBounce's subscription refund ends after 500 validations, and Bouncer refunds only deliverable results that bounce within 72 hours.

Use the free allowance on a sample first. Run a few hundred addresses from your real list through two services and compare how many come back unknown or catch-all; that tells you more than any vendor's accuracy claim.

Verify before you import, then at the point of capture. Clean the old list once, then add real-time checks to your sign-up forms so bad addresses don't build up again.

    Methodology

    How We Evaluate Tools

Fit first, informed by review scores

Ranked for a small team on Mailchimp, Brevo, Kit, ActiveCampaign or Klaviyo, using each tool's computed review score (ease 20%, features 25%, pricing 20%, support 15%, integrations 20%).

    Cost at two volumes

The price of 10,000 and 100,000 checks, pay-as-you-go and by subscription, from each vendor's pricing page on October 19, 2026.

    Credit and refund rules

Free allowance, credit expiry and refund terms, with conflicting vendor pages reported side by side.
