Quick answer
What is lemlist, and is it worth paying for?
lemlist is a cold outreach platform from LEMPIRE SAS in Paris. It sends personalized sequences by email and, on its Multichannel plan, by LinkedIn, phone, SMS and WhatsApp, and it includes a lead database, email warm-up (lemwarm) and an AI agent (lemAgent) that drafts lead lists and campaigns. It's worth paying for if you want email and LinkedIn steps in one sequence without stitching tools together. The Email plan costs $55 a month billed yearly ($69 monthly) for 50,000 emails with unlimited users, and Multichannel costs $87 per user a month billed yearly ($109 monthly), according to lemlist's pricing page on October 13, 2026. Lead data, SMS and calls beyond plan allowances run on credits.
- Best for
- SDR teams, founders and agencies that mix email, LinkedIn and calls in one sequence and want warm-up, lead data and a unified inbox in the same tool.
- Skip it if
- You only send high-volume email from many mailboxes (Instantly or Smartlead cost less), or you need a refundable plan: lemlist's terms don't refund a billing period already started.
- Strongest capability
- Multichannel sequences with conditions: email, LinkedIn visits, invites, messages, voice notes and InMail, calls, SMS and WhatsApp in one campaign, with a shared inbox for replies.
- Biggest limitation
- Per-user Multichannel pricing plus credits and add-ons for data, SMS, numbers and WhatsApp, and help pages that disagree with the pricing page on the trial and lead database size.
The Verdict
lemlist is one of the few self-serve tools that puts email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp in the same sequence, and it bundles the pieces cold outreach usually needs: a lead database, email finder, warm-up, deliverability checks and a unified inbox. The Email plan is good value for teams that only email, with unlimited users and senders and 50,000 emails a month for $55 billed yearly. Multichannel is where lemlist stands out, but at $87 per user a month billed yearly ($109 monthly) it costs more than email-only senders, and SMS, phone numbers, WhatsApp and lead data add credits or fees. lemAgent can build lead lists and campaigns from a prompt, and you validate each step before launch. lemlist's own pages disagree on the trial, the lead database size and what the trial includes, and its terms say a started month or year isn't refunded. We score lemlist 8.4/10.

The Background
What Is lemlist?
lemlist (lemlist.com) is a sales engagement and cold outreach platform run by LEMPIRE SAS, a French company based in Paris. Its AI info page says it was founded in 2018, is bootstrapped, has about 150 employees and serves 20,000+ customers, figures that are lemlist's own. The product combines a lead database and email and phone finder, multichannel sequences (email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp), deliverability tools including lemwarm warm-up, a unified inbox, and AI agents for research, enrichment and messaging. In October 2025 lemlist bought Claap, a meeting recorder and conversation intelligence tool; lemlist's Claap page says Claap remains a separate tool with its own pricing.
The Product
lemlist Features: What You Actually Get
Multichannel sequences
Campaigns mix email steps with LinkedIn profile visits, follows, invites, text messages, voice messages and InMail, plus in-app calls, SMS and WhatsApp, with conditional next steps, scheduling, auto-stop and A/B testing. LinkedIn, calling and SMS are on Multichannel and Enterprise; WhatsApp is a $20 per seat a month add-on on those plans. Multichannel includes 400 calling minutes per user a month and Enterprise 800, according to lemlist's plans help article. SMS numbers cost $15 a month in the US, UK, France and the Netherlands, and each SMS uses 6 credits.
An SDR visits a prospect's LinkedIn profile, sends a connection invite two days later, follows with a personalized email, and calls only if the email is opened twice.
Lead database and enrichment
lemlist's pricing page advertises a 650M+ lead database with an email and phone number finder on every plan. Revealing data costs credits: 5 credits per email found and 20 per phone number, charged only for results, according to the credits help article. Multichannel includes 400 credits per user a month, the Email plan includes none, and extra credits come as a subscription (2,000 a month for $20, or $16 billed yearly) or one-off top-ups. Subscribed credits roll over while the subscription is active.
A founder filters the database for heads of finance at 50 to 200 person SaaS companies in Germany and enriches 400 verified emails a month from the included credits.
Deliverability and warm-up
lemwarm warm-up and lemlist's deliverability hub are included on paid plans, with Google, Microsoft and SMTP mailboxes, custom tracking domains, inbox rotation, DNS checks, alerts and in-app domain and mailbox purchase. lemlist's sending-limits article recommends 10 to 15 cold emails a day per mailbox after warm-up, rising to 25 to 30, and keeping warm-up plus campaigns at or below 50 a day per mailbox, measured over a rolling 24 hours.
An agency buys three new domains in lemlist, warms nine mailboxes with lemwarm for several weeks, then rotates campaigns across them to stay within the recommended daily limits.
lemAgent and AI agents
lemAgent is a chat assistant that searches the lead database, builds multichannel campaigns and messages, and analyzes campaign and deliverability results. The help center says it is available on Email, Multichannel and Enterprise, and you review and validate the strategy, sequence and copy before leads go live. The pricing table also lists intent signal agents, enrichment agents, AI reply detection, AI-generated replies, AI LinkedIn voice notes, AI call summaries and CRM auto-fill. lemlist doesn't publish usage limits for lemAgent.
A sales lead asks lemAgent for a campaign targeting operations managers at logistics firms, reviews the proposed sequence, edits two emails, then validates it.
Unified inbox, team tools and integrations
Replies from email, LinkedIn and other channels land in one inbox. Email includes unlimited users and senders; Multichannel allows 5 senders per user and, per the help center, 5 guest seats per account. Enterprise adds roles and permissions, SSO/SAML, a dedicated account manager and custom terms. lemlist lists 58 integrations, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Attio, Close, Zoho CRM, Zapier, Make, n8n, Clay, Aircall and Ringover, plus an API, MCP server and CLI.
A five-rep team syncs replies and call outcomes to HubSpot, posts positive replies in Slack, and triggers a lemlist campaign from new Clay rows.

The Numbers
lemlist Pricing: Every Plan Explained
These prices come from lemlist's pricing page and plans help article, checked October 13, 2026, in USD. Yearly prices are shown as a monthly figure. lemlist also offers quarterly billing (about 10% off), and prices exclude VAT. The Email plan is priced per account by monthly email volume; Multichannel is priced per user.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $69/mo (50,000 emails) | $55/mo (50,000 emails) | Unlimited users and email senders; volume tiers 100,000 emails ($89 monthly, $71 yearly), 200,000 ($159, $127), 500,000 ($359, $287) and 1,000,000 ($659, $527); lead database, email and phone finder (credits not included); lemAgent and AI agents; warm-up and deliverability hub; CRM integrations and API. No LinkedIn, calling, SMS or WhatsApp | Email-only outbound teams | |
| MultichannelBest value | $109/user/mo | $87/user/mo | Everything in Email plus LinkedIn automation, SMS, in-app calling and power dialer (400 minutes/user/month), 5 senders per user, unlimited emails and messages, 400 enrichment credits/user/month, Gmail and LinkedIn extension; WhatsApp add-on $20/seat/mo | SDRs and founders running email plus LinkedIn |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom (annual only, 5-seat minimum) | Everything in Multichannel plus 800 calling minutes/user/month, work from your CRM, custom roles and permissions, SSO/SAML, dedicated account manager, priority support, custom terms, invoice or SEPA payment | Larger teams with IT and compliance needs |
| Data add-ons | Enrichment from $20/mo; signals from $29/mo | Enrichment from $16/mo; signals from $21/mo | Lead data enrichment from 2,000 credits a month (about 400 emails or 100 phone numbers) up to 200,000; buying intent signals from 100 a month up to 5,000; billed separately from the plan | Teams that need more lead data |
For a three-rep SDR team on Multichannel, lemlist costs $261 a month billed yearly ($3,132 a year) or $327 a month billed monthly (our arithmetic from lemlist's listed prices), before VAT, extra credits, $15 phone numbers, SMS credits and the $20 WhatsApp add-on. An email-only team pays $55 a month billed yearly for 50,000 emails no matter how many users it adds. The free trial lasts 14 days, needs no credit card and doesn't bill automatically; it includes 200 one-time credits and a 50-emails-a-day limit, and afterward the account moves to Freemium, which can't send campaigns. lemlist's terms of service (as of September 17, 2025) say paid plans renew automatically, that lemlist won't refund unused fees for a month or year already begun, even prorated, and that the Minimum Annual Fee is non-cancelable and non-refundable. Fee changes need 30 days' email notice. Cancelling stops billing at the end of the current cycle, and email downgrades also take effect at period end with no refund. The enrichment add-on is billed and cancelled separately.

Where lemlist's own pages differ
Trial length and scope: the pricing page footer and SMS page say "14-day free trial. No credit card required. Full access to all features." The pricing page FAQ says the trial gives Multichannel features except in-app calls, and the trial help article adds that lemwarm, Aircall and WhatsApp aren't included. On October 13, 2026 the pricing page also showed a promotional banner offering an "extended 30 day free trial".
Trial on the Email plan: the pricing page shows a "Start free trial" button on the Email plan, while the plans help article lists the Email plan's free trial as "none" and gives a 14-day trial only for Multichannel Expert.
Lead database size: the pricing page advertises a "650M+ leads database", the AI info page says "600M+" B2B contacts, and the plans help article lists a "450M+ leads database" on Multichannel Expert.
Plan names and seats: the pricing page calls the middle plan Multichannel and says pricing is "based on the number of users", while the help center calls it Multichannel Expert and lists 5 guest seats per account. WhatsApp pricing ($20 per seat a month) appears on the WhatsApp page and AI info page but not on the pricing page.
Data
Security, data location and terms
lemlist's trust center lists a SOC 2 Type 2 report and encryption in transit and at rest. Its GDPR help article says lemlist acts as a data processor, stores data in the European Economic Area on servers in France hosted by OVH, and offers a data processing agreement. lemlist doesn't state on these pages whether customer data is used to train AI models.
The terms of service are governed by French law with disputes in Paris courts, cap lemlist's liability at the amount you paid, and let lemlist suspend accounts after notice. Each seat is for one person: connecting several people's email addresses to one seat breaks the terms. After cancellation, the help center says data stays stored until you ask for deletion, and deletion happens within 7 days of the privacy team's confirmation.

Use cases
Example setups by buyer type
A founder doing outbound alone
Multichannel ($87 billed yearly) covers email, LinkedIn and calls with 400 credits a month for emails and phone numbers. Start on the 14-day trial, warm a new domain before sending, and keep to lemlist's recommended 10 to 15 cold emails a day per mailbox at first.
An agency sending email for several clients
The Email plan's unlimited users and senders suit agencies that connect many mailboxes. Pick a volume tier (50,000 emails for $55 billed yearly, 200,000 for $127) and buy enrichment credits only when a client needs lead data.
A 10-rep sales team on Salesforce
Compare Multichannel ($870 a month billed yearly for 10 users, our arithmetic) with an Enterprise quote, which adds SSO, roles, CRM-embedded workflows and 800 calling minutes per user but is annual only with a 5-seat minimum.

- →Zapier, Make, n8n, Pipedream and Relay.app

Integration names come from lemlist's integrations directory on October 13, 2026. The trial help article says Aircall isn't available during the trial. Claap, which lemlist owns, is sold separately with its own pricing; lemlist's Claap page says Claap's meeting insights can trigger lemlist campaigns.

The Final Word
Should You Use lemlist?
lemlist is a strong choice for teams that prospect on both email and LinkedIn and want warm-up, lead data and an AI campaign builder in the same self-serve tool. The Email plan is fair value for email-only teams with many users. Multichannel costs more per rep than email senders, so budget for credits and add-ons, start with the no-card trial, and remember that started billing periods aren't refunded. We score lemlist 8.4/10.
