    Quick answer

What is Prezi, and is it worth paying for?

Prezi is a presentation tool that places content on an open canvas and zooms between topics instead of moving slide by slide. Prezi AI drafts presentations from a prompt or an uploaded PowerPoint, PDF or Word file, and Prezi now adds live polls, quizzes, Q&A and follow-up study tools such as flashcards. It's worth paying for if you train, teach or present to live audiences and want movement and participation in one tool. The free Basic plan allows up to 5 projects that anyone can see. Paid plans start with Standard at $7 a month billed annually; Plus ($19 billed annually) adds unlimited Prezi AI, PowerPoint import and PDF export, checked on Prezi's pricing page on October 13, 2026. Prezi's terms say subscriptions are non-refundable.

    Best for
Corporate trainers, teachers and keynote speakers who want zooming presentations plus polls, quizzes and Q&A without a second tool.
    Skip it if
You want standard slide decks, need refundable or clearly priced monthly billing, or need private work on a free plan.
    Strongest capability
The zooming canvas combined with Prezi AI generation and built-in live participation, with PPTX, PDF and SCORM export for after the session.
    Biggest limitation
Free content is public, only annual prices are published, fees are non-refundable, and the pricing page doesn't show which plans include polls, quizzes or SCORM.

    The Verdict

Prezi's zooming canvas is still its main difference from slide-based tools, and 2026 added a lot around it. Prezi AI builds a presentation from a prompt or an uploaded PPTX, PDF or Word file, PPTX export arrived in February 2026, and Prezi's September 2026 updates describe live polls, AI-generated quizzes, Q&A, flashcards, narrated video, podcast-style playback and SCORM downloads. The pricing is less clear. The pricing page lists only annual prices, Standard's 500 AI credits sit below a $19 Plus plan for unlimited AI, and the page doesn't say which plans get the new participation features. Free Basic work is public and searchable, and Prezi's terms let it train its AI on public content. Fees are non-refundable, starting a trial waives refund rights, and Prezi's pages disagree on Basic's PowerPoint import, Premium support and user counts. We score Prezi 8.0/10.

    The Background

    What Is Prezi?

Prezi Inc. (prezi.com) is a Delaware corporation with a US business address in Concord, California, according to its business terms. Its main product, Prezi Present, places content on one large canvas and zooms between frames, so a presenter can move through topics in any order. The same account includes Prezi Video, which shows the presenter on screen next to their content for live calls or recordings, and Infographics (formerly Prezi Design) for data visualizations. Prezi AI generates presentations from prompts or files, and in 2026 Prezi repositioned its homepage around training and education, with live polls, quizzes, Q&A, word clouds and follow-up study tools. Prezi says more than 170 million people have used it.

    The Product

Prezi Features: What You Actually Get

    Zooming canvas presentations

Prezi Present arranges frames on an open canvas and zooms between them, with a timeline for the default path and the option to jump to any topic. The editor added image shape cropping and inline text highlighting in November 2025, a simplified top menu and 24 more languages in January 2026, and on-slide text and element editing in September 2026. Presenter view, voice-over narration, PDF export and Live Prezi remote presenting start on Plus.

A product marketer builds a launch keynote as one canvas, then zooms into pricing or roadmap details only when the audience asks.

    Prezi AI generation and editing

Prezi AI builds an outline from a prompt, pasted text or an uploaded PDF, DOCX or PPTX file, lets you edit the outline, then designs the presentation. It also rewrites text, generates images and suggests visuals. Basic and Standard include 500 AI credits on the pricing page; Plus and higher plans include unlimited AI use. Prezi's help center says credits don't refresh monthly or expire, and you can earn more by referring friends. In March 2026 Prezi said prompts of 1,000+ characters generate about four times faster and that it recognizes logos for 2,000+ brands.

A consultant uploads last quarter's PowerPoint review and has Prezi AI turn it into a zooming presentation for the client meeting.

    Live polls, quizzes and Q&A

Prezi's homepage and September 2026 update describe live polls, quizzes, moderated Q&A and word clouds built into the presentation. The audience joins by QR code from any device with no app or account, and questions can be upvoted. Quizzes are AI-generated by default and editable, and polls and Q&A can also run asynchronously. Results come back by question with an end-of-session feedback digest. The pricing page does not say which plans include these features.

A compliance trainer ends each section with a three-question quiz and re-explains the topic that scored lowest before moving on.

    Follow-up, export and SCORM

After a session, a shared link can be revisited as a narrated video, podcast-style audio, transcript, flashcards or a self-test, according to Prezi's homepage. Presentations can be downloaded as PPTX (added February 2026) and PDF, and Prezi's training page and September 2026 update describe SCORM export for learning management systems. The pricing table lists PDF export from Plus and doesn't list PPTX or SCORM by plan.

An HR team runs live onboarding, then publishes the same material to its LMS as a SCORM package for new hires who missed it.

    Privacy, sharing and Teams controls

Paid plans add privacy control and revocable share links; on the free Basic plan, content is public. Premium adds presentation analytics that show time spent on each topic. Teams ($39 per user a month billed annually) adds collaboration, commenting, a Slack integration, a brand kit, leaderboard tracking and SSO, and Prezi's Teams page describes license management, content ownership when someone leaves, MSI installation and a dedicated manager.

A sales enablement lead gives 15 reps Teams licenses with a locked brand kit, and keeps their decks when a rep leaves.

    Prezi Pricing: Every Plan Explained

These Prezi prices come from Prezi's pricing page, checked October 13, 2026, in USD. Every paid price on the page is labeled "Billed annually" and shown as a monthly figure; the page shows no monthly-billing prices. Prezi's terms of service refer to 30-day and 365-day billing cycles, so monthly billing may be offered in checkout, but we could not confirm a monthly price on a public page. Taxes are extra.

All three include unlimited Prezi AI and the Plus feature set; EDU Pro adds analytics and advanced online training per its plan card; EDU Teams adds collaboration, a brand kit and SSOStudents, teachers and school departments

For one presenter who wants unlimited Prezi AI, Plus costs $228 a year, and Standard costs $84 a year with 500 AI credits (our arithmetic from Prezi's listed annual prices). A five-person Teams account costs $2,340 a year at $39 per user. Prezi's terms of service (last updated May 28, 2026) set a 14-day free trial, after which the plan's fee is charged automatically at midnight Pacific time on the day the trial ends, and they state that starting a trial waives any right to a refund. Subscription payments are non-refundable: if you cancel, the account stays active until the next renewal date and no refund is given, including for any unused time. Annual subscribers can pause once per term for 2 to 8 weeks, and the next renewal fee is pro-rated for the pause. The help center says you can cancel in Account Settings at any time, but downgrading to another paid plan requires a support request. Teams contracts under Prezi's business terms run for one year and renew automatically unless either side gives written notice at least 30 days before the term ends, with a late fee of 1% a month.

    Where Prezi's own pages differ

PowerPoint import on Basic: the pricing page's comparison table marks the PowerPoint Converter as unavailable on the free Basic plan. The help center's Guide to Prezi plans says Basic lets you start "from existing PowerPoint slides" and lists PDF/PPT import among its AI features, and the homepage FAQ says you can start for free and import your existing slides.

Basic project limit: the pricing page says Basic allows up to 5 "visual projects" across presentations, videos and infographics. The help center's subscription article says Basic allows up to five presentations, and the Prezi Video plan article describes unlimited public or unlisted videos on Basic.

Premium support: the pricing page's tooltip for Premium's priority technical support says "Response within 24 hours during business days". The Guide to Prezi plans says Premium includes Prezi Analytics and phone support.

Exports and offline use: the homepage FAQ says you can export a presentation as PPTX or PDF without naming a plan, while the pricing table lists PDF export only from Plus and does not list PPTX. The Guide to Prezi plans and the business page describe a desktop app with offline access, while the pricing table lists "portable presentations" that need no installation and has no desktop app row.

User counts: the homepage says more than 170 million people have used Prezi, while the business and Prezi AI pages say 160 million.

    Data

Public content, AI training and security

Prezi's terms of service say everything created on a free account, including your username, is public: it can appear in Prezi's searchable database and in public search engines. Paid accounts are private by default. Content made privately during a trial can be made public afterward if you don't convert to a paid plan, and if a paid account reverts to free after a failed payment, new content becomes public. The terms also let Prezi use public content to train its own AI, and say public content marked as reusable may be shared with Prezi's AI third-party partners for their own commercial purposes, including training their models.

Prezi's AI Product Terms of Use say inputs to Prezi AI are shared with third-party providers, including OpenAI in the United States, that Prezi may keep AI chat sessions in anonymized or aggregated form to improve its models, and that you should not enter sensitive personal data. Prezi's security page says it runs on AWS, encrypts content created after February 2018 with AES-256 at rest, uses TLS in transit and commissions annual third-party penetration tests. It has a SOC 2 Type 2 report on Security, available to Prezi Business subscribers who sign an NDA.

    The Tradeoffs

    Prezi Pros and Cons

    What we love

    • Zooming, non-linear canvas that slide-based tools don't offer
    • Prezi AI drafts from prompts or uploaded PPTX, PDF and Word files
    • Live polls, quizzes and Q&A built into the presentation
    • PPTX, PDF and SCORM export for sharing and LMS use
    • Prezi Video and Infographics included in the same account
    • Low-cost education plans from $4 a month billed annually

    What could be better

    • Free Basic content is public and limited to 5 projects
    • Only annual prices are published on the pricing page
    • Subscriptions are non-refundable, and starting a trial waives refunds
    • Unlimited AI requires Plus at $19 a month billed annually
    • Pricing page doesn't show which plans include polls, quizzes or SCORM
    • Prezi's pages disagree on Basic import, Premium support and exports

    The Audience

    Who Should Use Prezi?

Best for: corporate trainers and L&D teams

Trainers can bring existing PowerPoint material, add quizzes and polls, see results by question, and publish the session to an LMS through SCORM. Teams adds a brand kit and license management for larger programs.

    Best for: teachers and students

EDU Plus costs $4 a month billed annually with unlimited Prezi AI, presenter view and PDF export, and the follow-up tools (flashcards, self-tests, narrated video) suit classes where students review on their own.

Skip if: you build standard business decks or want a free private plan

If your decks are linear slides for sales or board meetings, Gamma, Pitch or Beautiful.ai fit the format more directly. Anything confidential needs a paid Prezi plan, because Basic content is public.

    How We Reviewed Prezi

This is an editorial review, not a documented hands-on test. We didn't use a Prezi account for this review. It's based on Prezi's pricing page (individual, business, education and Basic views, including its feature table and tooltips), homepage, training, business, Teams, Prezi AI and security pages, its terms of service, business terms and AI Product Terms of Use, its September 2026 updates blog post, and help-center articles on AI credits, plans, subscription management, product updates and Prezi Video, all checked on October 13, 2026. Some help-center articles on export required a login and were not read. Where Prezi's pages differ, we report both statements. No presentation-quality, AI-output or audience-engagement results are claimed.

Our editorial evaluation considers product information, official documentation, pricing, features and professional experience. It is not a claim of documented hands-on testing.

    How People Actually Use Prezi

A corporate trainer running compliance sessions

Import the existing PowerPoint, add quizzes at the end of each section, and export the session to the LMS through SCORM. Confirm with Prezi which plan includes quizzes and SCORM before buying, since the pricing page doesn't say.

    A university lecturer

EDU Plus ($4 a month billed annually) covers unlimited Prezi AI, presenter view and PDF export. Students can revisit the lecture afterward as flashcards, a transcript or a narrated video.

    A conference speaker

Plus ($19 a month billed annually) adds presenter view, offline portable presentations and Live Prezi remote presenting. Use the zooming canvas to jump to topics as audience questions come in.

    The Ecosystem

    Prezi Integrations

Prezi's connections are mostly imports and exports rather than an app marketplace. These come from Prezi's homepage, training, business and pricing pages and its help center, checked October 13, 2026.

    • →Import: PowerPoint (PPTX), Google Slides, Canva, PDF and Word (DOCX), plus slides from ChatGPT and other AI tools
    • →Export: PPTX (added February 2026), PDF (Plus and up per the pricing table) and SCORM for learning management systems
    • →Slack integration (Teams)
    • →Prezi Video with video conferencing tools; the help center has guides for Zoom and Microsoft Teams
    • →Sign-in with Google, Apple, Microsoft or Slack; SSO on Teams and EDU Teams
    • →Infographics (formerly Prezi Design) for charts and data visualizations
    • →QR codes for audience participation and sharing

Prezi doesn't publish a public API or an integrations directory on the pages we checked. The pricing page lists Slack only on Teams, and it doesn't show which plans include SCORM or PPTX export; confirm with Prezi sales before buying for an LMS rollout.
