The Verdict
Gamma is built to get you from a rough idea to a presentable deck, document or web page with little manual layout work. You type a prompt, paste notes or import a PowerPoint, PDF or Word file, and Gamma's AI drafts the whole thing with layouts and images. Exports to PDF, PNG and PowerPoint are on every plan, and Claude and ChatGPT connectors work even on Free. The trade-offs are control and metering: Gamma's card-based layouts don't map one-to-one onto slides, exports reflect Gamma's Present Mode and carry no slide master, so PowerPoint users may need to tidy files, and every AI action draws on a credit balance. For people who need good drafts quickly and edit from there, those trade-offs are reasonable. We score it 9.4/10.

What Is Gamma?
Gamma is an AI tool for making presentations, documents, websites, social posts and images. Instead of fixed slides, it uses cards that can scroll, nest and adapt to screen size, though you can also export a fixed slide format. You start from a prompt, pasted text, a webpage link or an imported file, and Gamma's AI agent writes an outline and generates the content, layouts and images. Gamma says it uses models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and several image-model makers. Finished work can be shared by link, embedded on another site, published to a custom domain on Pro and up, or exported to PDF, PNG and PowerPoint. AI use is metered in credits. Gamma Tech, Inc. says it is a SOC 2 Type II compliant organization.

Generate from a prompt, notes or a file
Gamma builds a full deck, doc, web page or social post from a prompt, pasted text or a link. Free creates up to 10 slides per prompt; Plus and higher create up to 100.
A consultant pastes meeting notes and asks for a 12-slide client proposal, then edits the draft instead of starting from a blank file.
Import PowerPoint, Word and PDF
Gamma imports PPTX and DOCX files up to 200 MB and PDFs up to 100 MB, plus webpages, Google Drive files and public Notion docs. Gamma says PowerPoint and PDF imports keep their original layouts and stay editable, or you can ask it to restyle them. Keynote and Excel files can't be imported directly.
A marketer imports last year's sales deck and asks Gamma to refresh the design while keeping every slide's content.
Exports on every plan
All plans export to PDF, PNG and PowerPoint, with speaker notes and editable tables in PPTX files. Gamma's help center says Google Slides works by uploading the exported PPTX. PDFs are static, so interactive elements aren't included, and there's no Word export. Free exports carry a 'Made with Gamma' badge.

Themes and custom branding
A theme builder sets colors, fonts, logos and other design elements, and custom themes are shared across a workspace. Custom branding is listed on Pro and higher. You can upload your own fonts.
An agency builds one branded theme per client so every deck it generates starts in the right colors and fonts.
Embeds, video and forms
You can upload MP4, WebM or MOV files up to 200 MB or embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia and TikTok. Forms from Google Forms, Tally, Typeform and Jotform can be embedded, with responses stored in the form provider, not Gamma. Gamma has no native form fields.
A course creator publishes a lesson page with an embedded Loom walkthrough and a Tally sign-up form.
Sharing, sites and analytics
Gammas can be shared by link, embedded in sites like Shopify, Wix or Squarespace with an iframe, or posted to LinkedIn. Pro adds detailed analytics, advanced sharing and up to 10 custom domains; Ultra and Business allow up to 100.

Connectors and API
Gamma's MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Glean, Superhuman and Atlassian create gammas from a conversation, on every plan. Inbound connectors let Gamma's agent read Notion, Slack, Granola, HubSpot, Linear, Stripe and other tools as source material. API keys for Zapier, Make, n8n or custom code start on Pro. Integrations can create content but not edit existing gammas.
A RevOps lead sets up a Zapier workflow that generates a deal-review deck whenever an opportunity reaches a set stage.

Gamma charges per seat, with a credit allowance per plan. Individual plans (Plus, Pro, Ultra) bill monthly or annually; Gamma says annual billing saves up to 28%. Business is billed annually only, and Enterprise is a custom annual agreement. Prices are in US dollars, exclude tax and were checked on both billing toggles on October 11, 2026.

Free is a trial, not a working plan: 400 credits don't refill, and Gamma's help center notes generation is metered per slide and per image, so a few decks can use it up. Plus is the plan most individuals need, since it removes the export badge and allows 100-slide generations. Pro doubles the price and quadruples the credits, and it's where custom branding, custom domains and API keys start. Gamma's own pages disagree on Business credits: the pricing page says 10,000 per seat a month, while the Business help article says 6,000 per member. Ask before buying seats. Gamma says you can cancel anytime and keep paid features until the period ends, but refunds are only available within 3 days of subscribing and below a credit-use threshold.

What Gamma costs for 1, 5 and heavy users
These are our calculations from Gamma's published prices on October 11, 2026, not quotes.
Calculation 1, a solo user on Plus. Annual billing is $9 × 12 = $108 a year. Monthly billing is $12 × 12 = $144 a year, so annual saves $36. Pro is $18 × 12 = $216 a year annually or $25 × 12 = $300 monthly, a $84 difference.
Calculation 2, credits per dollar. On annual billing, Plus works out to $9 per 1,000 monthly credits, Pro to $18 ÷ 4 = $4.50 per 1,000, and Ultra to $90 ÷ 20 = $4.50 per 1,000. Business is $40 ÷ 10 = $4 per 1,000 at the pricing page's 10,000 credits, or about $6.67 per 1,000 at the help article's 6,000. If you regularly run out on Plus, Pro is the cheaper way to buy credits.
Calculation 3, a five-person team. Five Pro seats cost 5 × $18 = $90 a month billed annually ($1,080 a year), or 5 × $25 = $125 monthly. Five Business seats cost 5 × $40 = $200 a month, billed annually ($2,400 a year). The $1,320 a year difference buys SSO, a shared credit pool, SOC 2 documentation and a locked AI-training opt-out.

Gamma's card format works as a web page as well as a deck, with video and form embeds, link sharing and iframe embeds. Pro adds analytics and custom domains for launch pages, lead magnets and course material.
Skip if: your company runs on strict PowerPoint templates
Gamma's PowerPoint exports don't include a slide master, and Gamma says exports reflect Present Mode, so some visual differences from the editor are expected. Teams locked into corporate PowerPoint templates will likely do better with Copilot in PowerPoint.

That supports the workflow, not speed, quality or time-saving claims. Everything else on this page is editorial. On October 11, 2026 we checked Gamma's pricing page on both the Individual and Business views and both billing toggles (plan prices, credits, slides per prompt, branding, custom domains and API), Gamma's help center articles on credits, exports, imports, embeds, connectors, AI-training controls, privacy, Business, Enterprise, refunds and support, Gamma's integrations page and its developer documentation on API access. Pricing scenarios are calculations from list prices. Where Gamma's own pages disagree, as with Business credits, API plan access and Google Slides export, we show both claims. Gamma doesn't publish exact credit costs per deck in its help center, so we don't estimate how many decks a plan covers.

Integrations create content but can't edit existing gammas, so changes still happen in the Gamma app. Gamma's pages disagree on API access: the pricing page lists it on Pro, its pricing FAQ says it's available on paid plans, and the developer docs say API keys are on Pro, Ultra, Teams and Business. The pricing page lists Google Slides as an export format, while the export help article says Google Slides works by uploading the PPTX file.
