Quick answer
Which CallHippo plan do I need?
Most teams that record calls should start at Professional: $30 per user a month billed yearly, or $40 monthly. It's the first plan in CallHippo's Essential family with call recording, multilingual IVR, call transcription and the HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zoho integrations. Starter ($19 yearly, $25 monthly) covers calling, 100 SMS and Zapier or Slack, and Ultimate ($42, $55) adds multilevel IVR, call summaries, SSO and 24/7 phone support. Call centers should look at the separate Pro Suite plans, which add queues, monitoring and dispositions.
- Trial
- 10 days free with no credit card, with one free standard number.
- Calling
- Paid plans include unlimited minutes to standard US and Canada numbers, as a shared team pool for manual dialing. Other destinations are billed per minute.
- Free plan
- Basic is free apart from number fees, but CallHippo's fair-use policy says only for the first 6 months, then you must move to Starter.
- Skip it if
- You need predictive or auto-dialing on the standard plans, which the fair-use policy bans, or a public uptime SLA below Enterprise.
The Verdict
CallHippo is a reasonable pick for small teams in the US and Canada that want a low-cost virtual phone system and can live with plan gating. Its Starter plan, at $19 per user a month billed yearly, includes unlimited calls to standard US and Canada numbers, 100 SMS, a free number per user and the Zapier and Slack integrations, and every paid plan comes with apps for the web, desktop and mobile. The catch is that the features most teams expect, such as call recording, IVR, transcription and CRM sync, start on Professional at $30, and SSO, call summaries and 24/7 phone support need Ultimate at $42. Number fees, SMS registration and AI add-ons are extra, and CallHippo's own pages disagree on several prices. We score it 8.3/10.
Best for
Small and mid-sized sales and support teams in the US or Canada that want CRM-linked calling at a low per-seat price.
Skip if
You run high-volume automated dialing on the standard plans, need a free plan beyond six months, or want an uptime commitment without an Enterprise contract.

The Background
What Is CallHippo?
CallHippo is a cloud phone system for businesses. You buy virtual local, mobile or toll-free numbers and make and take calls through a web app, desktop and mobile apps or a Chrome extension. It's sold in two plan families. The Essential plans (Basic, Starter, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise) are aimed at general business calling, and the Pro Suite plans (Bronze, Silver, Platinum and Enterprise) at higher call volumes, with queues, live monitoring and dispositions. CallHippo also sells a separate parallel dialer, an AI Voice Agent, an AI Copilot add-on for call analysis, WhatsApp Business API access and an omnichannel inbox. It says it offers numbers in 150+ countries.
The Product
CallHippo Features: What You Actually Get
Virtual numbers and US/CA calling
Every paid plan includes one free standard number per user and unlimited minutes to standard US and Canada numbers. CallHippo describes those minutes as a shared pool for your whole team, valid for manual dialing only, and excludes premium and toll-free numbers and destinations on its exemption list. Extra US local numbers are $8 a month and toll-free numbers $12, and calls to other countries are billed per minute.
A five-person sales team in Texas gets a local number each and calls US prospects all month without per-minute charges.
Call routing and IVR
Starter has forwarding, ring-all-devices and business hours. Professional adds multilingual IVR, cascading call distribution and custom greetings; Ultimate adds multilevel IVR, Smart DID routing, holiday routing and CRM-based VIP routing. In the Pro Suite, call queues and queue callback start on Silver and multilevel IVR on Platinum.
An agency routes callers to sales or support with a two-option IVR on Professional, and sends known clients straight to their account manager on Ultimate.
Call recording, transcription and summaries
On the Essential plans, call recording, call transcription and AI voicemail transcription start on Professional, and AI call summaries on Ultimate. On the Pro Suite, recording is a paid extra on Bronze and included from Silver. Sentiment, talk-ratio and topic analysis are part of the AI Copilot add-on at $10 per user a month.
A support lead reviews recordings and transcripts of escalated calls on Professional before a weekly coaching session.
SMS, WhatsApp and the omnichannel inbox
Starter includes 100 SMS a month, Professional 500 and Ultimate 1,000. Business texting to US and Canada numbers needs the SMS Services add-on, from $3 a month plus a $20 one-time setup fee, and A2P registration takes about 2 to 4 weeks. WhatsApp Business API is $20 per channel a month plus message charges.
A clinic texts appointment reminders from its CallHippo number after completing A2P registration.
Call-center controls (Pro Suite)
Pro Suite Silver adds live call monitoring, after-call work, dispositions, a leaderboard and agent availability controls. Platinum adds call barging and whisper, CSAT scores, compliance recording, automatic machine detection, IP whitelisting and a dedicated customer success manager.
A 20-seat inbound team uses queues and whisper coaching on Platinum, with supervisors watching live calls.
Parallel dialer and AI Voice Agent
Power and parallel dialing are sold as a separate Parallel Dialer product, listed at $35 and $200 per user a month with a contact-sales button. The AI Voice Agent is $45 per agent a month plus $0.25 a minute, with 100 free minutes. The standard phone plans' fair-use policy bans auto-dialing and predictive dialing.
An outbound SDR team buys the Parallel Dialer for list calling and keeps account managers on the standard Professional plan.
Apps and admin
CallHippo lists a web app, Windows and macOS apps, iOS and Android apps and a Chrome extension. Two-factor authentication and audit logs are included, SSO starts on Ultimate (or Platinum), and role-based access control on Professional.
A remote team takes calls on laptops during the day and on mobile after hours, with the admin enforcing 2FA.
Feature recap
- Unlimited calls to standard US/CA numbers on paid plans (shared pool, manual dialing)
- One free standard number per user on paid plans
- Call recording, IVR and transcription from Professional
- Call summaries, SSO and 24/7 phone support on Ultimate
- Pro Suite plans for queues, monitoring and dispositions

The Numbers
CallHippo Pricing: Every Plan Explained
CallHippo charges per user per month. The pricing page defaults to yearly billing, which it says saves three months' cost; on the Essential plans, monthly prices are $6 to $13 higher per user. Prices below are in USD for US and Canada numbers and teams of 1 to 49 users; local taxes are extra. There's a 10-day free trial with no card. Prices checked on October 10, 2026.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included Features | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | Free | Pay only for numbers; voicemail, click-to-dial, business hours, SMS and MMS, 2FA, apps. Free for the first 6 months, per the fair-use policy | Trying a number before committing |
| Starter | $25/user | $19/user/mo | Unlimited US/CA minutes, 1 free number per user, 100 SMS, basic reports, 1-month call logs, Zapier, Slack and webhooks | Small teams that only need calling and texting |
| ProfessionalBest value | $40/user | $30/user/mo | Call recording, multilingual IVR, call transcription, AI voicemail transcription, 500 SMS, lifetime call logs, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zoho | Most sales and support teams |
| Ultimate | $55/user | $42/user/mo | Multilevel IVR, Smart DID and VIP routing, call summaries, 1,000 SMS, SSO, Zendesk, dedicated account manager, 24/7 and phone support | Teams that need advanced routing and admin controls |
| Pro Suite (Bronze / Silver / Platinum) | $40 / $55 / $70 per user | $32 / $42 / $54 per user/mo | Call-center plans: skill-based routing; queues, monitoring and free recording from Silver; barge, whisper, CSAT and compliance recording on Platinum | Higher-volume inbound and support teams |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Minimum 50 users; SLA, custom reports and onboarding, priority support with a 1-hour response time, dedicated compliance support | Larger contact centers |
The $19 headline is real for calling and texting, but Starter has no call recording, IVR or CRM integrations, so most business teams will land on Professional at $30 per user a month billed yearly ($40 monthly). Yearly billing is a commitment: CallHippo's terms say subscription charges are non-refundable and that cancelling an annual plan still owes the full commitment. Costs outside the seat price add up: extra US local numbers are $8 a month, toll-free numbers $12, business SMS registration from $3 a month plus a $20 setup fee, the AI Copilot add-on $10 per user a month, and calls outside the US and Canada are billed per minute by destination. CallHippo's power-dialer and call-center pages quote different plan prices ($1 Basic, $29 Professional, $45 Ultimate) from its pricing page, so confirm the price on the checkout screen.
Pricing scenarios
What CallHippo costs for a real team: three calculations
These are our calculations from CallHippo's published prices on October 10, 2026, not quotes. Taxes and per-minute usage outside the unlimited US and Canada pool are not included.
Calculation 1, a four-person sales team on Professional. 4 × $30 = $120 a month billed yearly ($1,440 a year), or 4 × $40 = $160 billed monthly. Each user gets one free standard number, call recording and the HubSpot or Salesforce integration.
Calculation 2, the same team with a toll-free line and texting. Add one toll-free number at $12 a month and the SMS Services add-on from $3 a month: at least $135 a month on yearly billing, plus a one-time $20 SMS setup fee.
Calculation 3, a ten-seat support team on Pro Suite Silver with AI analysis. 10 × $42 = $420 a month billed yearly, plus the AI Copilot add-on at 10 × $10 = $100, for $520 a month ($6,240 a year).
